Where's the smirk, Mr. President? Where's the "Some say I have a swagger...in Texas, it's called WALKING" bravado?

Where is it?

65. Actually, Jesus said those words to Peter
When Jesus told the disciples he would be offered up and killed, Peter began to protest that it would not happen to Jesus. That is when Jesus said "Get the behind me, Satan." to Peter.

Mathhew 16:21ff

From that time Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised. 22 And Peter took him and began to rebuke him, saying, "God forbid, Lord! This shall never happen to you." 23 But he turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me; for you are not on the side of God, but of men." 24 Then Jesus told his disciples, "If any man would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25 For whoever would save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. 26 For what will it profit a man, if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life? Or what shall a man give in return for his life?

5. Did he get poopoo on his shirt???
I saw some shots early this morning of him in the blue shirt, and this afternoon in the truck in the lighter colored checked shirt.

Is he mad because Nagin is way taller than he is?

Is he mad because they couldn't find any compliant brown citizens to greet him with joy?

No wonder they wanted to evacuate the whole city...when you need as much protection as we have forces stationed in the Sunni Triangle, something ain't quite right.

They should issue him waders, a mask and heavy gloves, pile him into a small boat, and have him spend a whole afternoon in the Lower 16th climbing around in the rafters of mud-filled houses pulling out corpses and body parts.

The only difference is that his drugs are now prescribed by medical specialists with high security clearances, and he has to travel around in a private jet and limos doing a standup comedy routine.

Still, the prospect of real privacy to complete the process of killing what's left of his own brain cells might seem attractive right now.

...when he was last there!

Remember his inane trip down memory lane--pondering over childhood frolicking--while people were trapped in the rafters of their homes?

NIMROD!!!

Everyone recall Junior's wistful glance into the sunset, as he fantasized about sipping mint juleps on Trent Lott's restored porch?

IDIOT!!!!

Rove grabbed him by the shirt collar, and told him to look serious and somber.

Obviously, this look was partially achieved with mass quantities of Ritalin and a shot in the butt with an elephant tranquilizer gun.

About all Bush should do is walk to the podium and say "I'm sorry and I'm returning to the White House to resign and I'm making Cheney resign before I do."

Makes such complete sense, I wonder when it will start to spill upward into the policy and national security classes.

Once it takes a hold there, Bush-Cheney really are through, even if they would rather complete the ruin they've started.

73. The people he is with are not smiling and effusively complementary.
They are grim, angry and grieving. And justifiably so.

Don't worry George, someone will meet you soon with the happy pills and the laudatory praise.

74. No, he doesn't look tired and defeated. He looks like he's just heard
the latest polls that show him heading toward the bottom of the toilet bowl. He's thinking "how the hell do I get out of this one? I HAVE to be on top... how do we change everybody's minds...hmmm... what kind of photo-op do I need next..."

The other thought that alternates with it is "aw, fuck, why do I have to come down here AGIN???? I'm SO SICK of this Katrina shit. It's SO over. And I had to cut my vacation short for THIS? Fuck these people. They didn't even vote for me. Why weren't they all just washed away - now I gotta deal with 'em... Fuck - karl!! karl? condi? Where are ya, guys? Somebody fix it for me! Somebody? Anybody? Hello..."

75. He's out of sorts right now.
His brain, Rove, is preoccupied with pushing some of these through his urinary tract.

76. He has been practicing from what I see. It must have taken
hours in front of the mirror to get that face down pat. Or maybe he had to alter his smirk to keep the smell of the after effects of his laziness from gagging him.
