Poll question: Do you love you child enough to do what it takes to get your Senator |
|
to block the nomination of John Roberts.
Forget choice. A more fundamental issue is at stake. Roberts will swing the court towards military tribunals for innocent children.
The French Fry case did not just apply to kids 12 and over. Roberts reasoning would allow them to drag you three year old away in handcuffs.
His support for Camp Gitmo and for the military tribunals also affects children. Innocent children were sold to people who sent them to Guantanamo. Roberts couldn't care less about these children or yours. If they got a hold of your child, Roberts would allow that child to be held and tortured until his military tribunal. Is this what you want American to stand for? Is this what you want for your children?
The Democrats can stop Roberts. They have a lot of choices. Will you stand up against a lifetime (probably 40 or more years in Roberts's case) appointment.

...but please help me understand this better.
I'm very concerned about children. I have two young kids.
One of the most frightening pieces of legislation to come down the pike, in my opinion, is that schools have the right to psychologically diagnose school children and mandate medication for them--even preschoolers. That legislation haunts me.
So, I'm concerned---but I don't understand how there could ever be a military tribunal for a child--even a three year old. Can you tell me more about this?
Also...people sold their children, and these children are now (or have been) at Guantanamo? I've never heard that there were children at Guantanamo...children who were sold. Why are they there?
I don't want any of this, obviously. It's truly frightening.
Can you direct me to links or more information on this? I apologize for my ignorance on these topics. I hope to become more informed.

7. Yes, there have been and still are children at Guantanamo. |
|
Check with Amnesty International and other organizations trying to monitor the situation. Most of those collected and brought to Guantanamo were sold to those who took them there. Those interested in the money turned over people and children. Watch "Unconstitutional" sometime. It is an excellent documentary on the situation.
