.. hate to mention this but.... wasn't it 9/11 yesterday?
This morning I awoke to the local news showing a couple of small remembrances around the area but yesterday I saw almost nothing. No mention hardly at all.

My link to the outside world was CNN in the morning (and during the middle of the night Sat. into Sunday), the first half of Meet the Press, and the NFL coverage. Nothing, no mention of note.

Of course Katrina news updates dominated but I had been lead to believe by their history and all that I had heard a month ago that this was going to be the big weekend for the glorification of everything Bush (taking credit for failure as usual). Nothing.

Did I miss something? Have we forgotten? Are we not supposed to mention it now (especially along side the Katrina disaster)? Was its only purpose to get troops into Iraq and be used for the '02 and '04 elections?

I don't mean only on the political front either.

Anyone? Anything?

1. as a 4th Anniversary passage
and just as Renquist's death......these issues cannot take priority over the Reporting on Katrina....and so they shouldn't.

No one has "forgotten"....but it has been placed in its proper perspective...

That and considering that the press cannot cover more than one story at a time, that's what you saw yesterday.

6. I remember that advertisements for it
I was thinking about that as I was typing this thread. Watched the Simpsons and Rome and then went to sleep.

4. yes, it was recognized at the county fair
that I attended last night. They had the riderless horse and everything. It was beautiful, solemn and awe inspiring. A moment of silence, the national anthem was played and all flags were displayed appropriately. The sun was setting over the mountains in the western horizon.
