NBG '08 ~ Nobody But GORE!!! |
|
Pass it on.
Democrats, not sure how you feel about Hillary? Repeat this mantra, build a critical mass, and nobody can beat Al Gore in the primaries. This man is our fucking President (with a capitol P!).
Oh, and someone needs to talk him into running again too. (Details!)

2. I'd certainly pick Gore over any DLC shill being shoved down our throats.. |
|
....but that said, the very earliest I'm joining a 2008 campaign is in 2007.

4. I'd certainly take him over Hillary, but I'm with you. |
|
Way, WAY to damn early.
And I think he's feeling too free to want his wings clipped again. I'm not sure I want to lose him as that voice of reason, you know?

7. I know what you mean... |
|
but I think we can handle the mid-terms AND think about '08 simultaneously. I mean c'mon!
I've just been feeling resistant to the sense I get that there's an attempt to foist Hillary upon us, either by the right wing, or by the MSM (or, is there a difference?).

16. But Gore is more DLC than anyone! He, Summers and Rubin agreed on |
|
Edited on Tue Sep-13-05 10:13 AM by 1932
most everything and most everything they agreed upon was pro-corporatocracy.

Forget that Joe Lieberman had a more liberal voting record than John Edwards. What reaaly counts for some is what politicians say, not what they do.

18. Clearly they weren't weighting Lieberman's pro-Wall St votes. |

I read Clinton's SEC chairman Athur Levitt's book and Lieberman comes across over and over again doing huge favors for accounting industry and for Wall St.
And those were all things he did BEFORE Gore picked him for the ticket.
So, another example of Gore's DLC-ness: his VP selection.

5. I would love him to be our president |

He's easily one of my top 5 people I'd want to be president. That said, I don't think he even wants it anymore.

I really hope he does. *sigh* I'm not hoping or anything because anything can change. I just love Gore and think he's one of our most progressive's which is what we'll need in 2008 to clean up Bush's messes.

19. I strongly disagree with that characterization. |
|
I have read books by Stiglitz and Arthur Levitt -- both members of the Clinton white house -- who paint Gore as a big friend of Wall St interests that made the wealthy wealthier at the cost of a fair, tranparent marketplace.

I really like Hillary and I don't want her either since she isn't quite as progressive as Gore. I think we have a chance of taking back the country since not everywhere has voting machine's and they have paper trails (my town does) and I think we could really do a lot of work in 2006. Can we prove Kerry/Edwards won? I don't know, but at least we can make it truly fair for 2008 and that is what is important.

If the vote machine fraud could be cleared up, he would be elected by a sizable majority.
