Could Karen Hughes be behind the "responsibility" statement?
Some people on a DailyKos thread were speculating that's the case, because to admit a mistake is not Rovian at all - it's a sign of weakness. (Also, I just learned Rove is recovering from kidney stones now, so maybe he isn't running the show.)

What do you think?

2. I could believe that. Like maybe she knows something that
bothers her inside and she doesn't want to keep secrets anymore?

3. Shouldn't she be focusing on foreign affairs now?
Why is she sticking her nose into domestic problems. Wasn't she just sworn in as an Undersecretary of State?

6. If she is, it's too late. Bush should have done this from the beginning.
No one but die-hard fanatical RW conservative-funddies will accept this as sincere statement of responsibility. It is, he would resign.

10. He ADMITS he cannot protect us from terror, 5 years after 9-11:

...The president was asked whether people should be
worried about the government's ability to handle
another terrorist attack given failures in responding
to Katrina.

"Are we capable of dealing with a severe attack?
That's a very important question and it's in the
national interest that we find out what went on so we
can better respond," Bush replied...

Gee- I thought we were already doing that every day
after 9-11- he even campaigned on that "fact." He has
had 5 years to "find out."
