Tilting @ Windmills department ...... calling my (R) Senators.
I just called George Voinovich & Mike DeWine's offices about the
squashing of an independent investigation into the response
before, during, and after Katrina's landfall.

"Thank you for the call. We will let the senator know."

Just like 9/11 investigation and the 2004 election investigation the repugs close ranks and do damage control.
And this in turn will allow the status quo to "keep on keeping on."

The party of Dwight Eisenhower, Thomas Dewey, Charles Percy, Pete Mc Clusky
(SP ???? southern cal congressman 1980s), and even Berry Goldwater has
become a lock step marching machine that sees self preservation and the accumulation of
power & money as it's only goals. The well being of America
and the World are not really important to them.

We must clean up the vote and throw them all out in 06.

1. My letter to 2 Republican Senators of VA:
Dear Senator ____,

I strongly disagree with your decision to oppose a bipartisan commission to investigate the government response to Hurricane Katrina. What if the same thing had happened in Norfolk or anywhere in Virginia and there were people hungry, thirsty and homeless running around and FEMA was no where to be found? I'm sure you would then be for a commission. Well the same thing could happen anywhere in the United States where a hurricane could hit. It could happen in our own state as soon as this weekend. Too bad you didn't care enough about another state to make sure your own state was protected in case of an emergency. I'm sure I won't be the only one to remember this at election time.

Sincerely,

________

2. thanks for calling them
you have a huge task. Our senators are called democrats, but Feinstein is often a DINO and that is another version of the same windmill. :rant:ing right along with you

4. Maybe it IS tilting at windmills
But if Voinovich or DeWine try to claim later on (and you just know they will) that they never heard squat-ah from their constituents, so how were they to know that a whitewash wasn't the proper course of action. You at least can say truthfully that you called both of their offices, and you received no response.

Go Ohio Democrats! These pigeons are ripe for plucking.
