Dismantle the federal government bureaucracy -- the Dem way.
Edited on Thu Sep-15-05 12:31 PM by gulliver
Dems should be for "dismantling the federal bureaucracy." You can't manage a government unless you are prepared to do away with the parts that don't work.

How do we determine the parts that work? We use accountability.

How do we get accountability? Transparency.

The GOP's lack of transparency makes it impossible to detect waste. It's failure to embrace whistle blowers (indeed punishing them) makes it impossible to detect incompetence and fraud.

What is the predictable result? Ballooning government under Bush. Ballooning incompetence. Ballooning fraud.

The GOP-controlled federal government isn't the solution to our problems. It is the problem.

1. but it's easier to just cut taxes and proclaim gov't as evil
Much easier than joe sixpack actually having to take a few hours a week away from the television to get involved in government and do your civic duties.

2. The bureaucracies are fine for the most part
but are ignored by the political appointees in this administration. Staff the departments with honest, knowledgeable, and capable people that can motivate.

3. I know. My point is that we need to be against the ones ...
... that are no good.

The Bushies scattergun the entire idea of Federal government. Then they kneecap it by putting incompetent toadies at the helm and evading accountability at all levels.

The federal government has grown under Bush and the quality has dropped. Their way is stupid.

Dems should be strongly against the bad bureaucracies. Right now the GOP has us saddled with being pro-waste, pro-bureaucracy. That's my point.
