(Reuters news editor Gary) Hershorn...says he's responsible for zooming in on the note and deciding to transmit the photo...He says (photographer Rick) Wilking didn't know what the note said...

Wilking was one of several photographers covering the United Nations Security Council meeting...(from) a balcony that faced Bush's back...Wilking shot about 200 images (and) sent ...(them) to...where Hershorn was working...Hershorn looked at the images...(and) started to wonder about a note that Bush was seen writing...(H)e zoomed in to see if he could read it... a Reuters processor used Photoshop (to darken the writing)...the picture was not manipulated in any other way.

...Hershorn says Wilking saw Bush write the note and hand the note to Rice.

On edit: It turns out that Drudge now has a link to this very story. He tries to mop up by insinuating, "Reuters has Acknowledged Bush 'Potty Note' Photo was Enhanced via Photoshop." But I don't see any acknowledgement or retraction of their earlier report that CONDI wrote it!

Anyway, I will say that the handwriting on the part after the question looks somewhat different than the handwriting of the question itself. So it could be that Condi write the question, then Bush is writing after the question. Just sayin'.

These people are writing each other notes about their potty problems. I know I will tell my husband when we are on a trip, "I need a bathroom break.", but anybody else I would say, "I need to stop for a few minutes." Or "I will be back in five."
