Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil
The Chimperor will be addressing the nation tonight in an empty Jackson Square. Well, empty in the sense that no one that hasn't been DNA crosschecked and rectally probed will be within ICBM range of 'Fearless Leader'. Well, Boris, monkey boy will be standing damn near ground zero of the voodoo/hoodoo vortex of the northern hemisphere. Forget about karma, zeitgeist, or any other concept of natural/righteous retribution, NO is the center of some no shit, spooky vibes that are a serious risk for anything that even verges on hypocritical or selfishly self serving when it comes to the health and welfare of the spirit/psyche of New Orleans. KKKarl may have thought they were leveraging the situation with this made-for-TV moment, but don't be surprised if the Sta-Puft Marshmallow Man goes Kersplat on the boy-who-would-be-king.

PS: Don't even want to get into the Andy Jackson/Native American disconnect. The whole shaman thing could take it to another level.

26. You should take that as a compliment.
Blue Man Group radio commercials are pretty verbose in a funky way. They're fun to listen to. The first time I heard one I was in Boston and I remembered it word for word for like a year.

4. I sense some really fantastically bad karma ready to be
unleashed any moment now. Maybe he'll start barfing cherry pits while his face erupts into hideous oozing boils, while his head spins around and he starts spouting vaguely threatening Latin phrases in a voice that sounds completely otherwordly - or maybe its just the comedown from a bad coke high?

18. The Trail of Tears is one of the best known
of the many injustices heaped on the native peoples. Added that as an additional reference because of the nearly compulsive tendency of this misAdministration to dress up and wrap itself in symbols. Just standing in the middle of NO to make some claim about how they will help the people and city is spitting in their eye given the truth of the situation. (Sure they need help, but that could be announced from DC, he will find no bullhorn moments for Katrina's aftermath.)

That he is not only desecrating NO by even being there, to do it with AJ as a backdrop is to invite the additional cosmic ire associated with what is truly American's genocide.

As much as it would amuse to see swift and sudden retribution, it is far more likely that the payback will be slow and agonizing.

7. Jackson's pre-New Orleans fame
was as an Indian fighter, throughout the Southeast. As president he was responsible for the forced relocation of Eastern tribes, most famously the "Trail of Tears". This abrogation of US treaties is a major part of the "White man's burden" that still haunts all the native peoples to this day.

9. Like Sharon in the Mosque
Bush spouting his blather in Jackson Square is roughly equivalent Sharon entering the Mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. There are just some places that some people should stay away from.

14. it already seems
that bush is facing something bigger than he has ever faced before. Life without the protection of the peoples' suspended disbelief.
His mask has fallen off and he keeps acting like it hasn't.

I really wish they had the speech at the Superdome. I heard it was built on a cemetery and the spirits are already displeased.

15. Hmmmm. The Andrew Jackson connection is fascinating.
Most fascinating to me because--I've read some convincing arguments that John Kerry is the reincarnated soul of Andrew Jackson. My theory, as a Kerry supporter, was that in 2005, Kerry would tackle various quasi-Jacksonian problems with the passion of A.J., but the compassion, humanity and vision a monster like Jackson lacked.

So, good luck to you, W. I'll be thinking about the karma of our dear America, as well as your own, tonight.

year because he wanted to understand more in his life ...I work for a Native American tribe ...that whole "walk a mile in my mocassins" thing really means something ...

how someone from such a privileged background shows so much compassion. Makes sense, ole AJ would have some serious atonement to do in the latest go round.

16. I've been hoping that Queen Marie Laveau would put the hex on Junior
She needs to get her mojo working.

I've also been wondering if Queen Marie saved the most historical and the most loved areas of the Crescent City from being destroyed, most of them had minimal flooding and damage.

19. Just keep an eye out
Don't think it would be so obvious as being turned into a toad on Primetime, no matter how satisfying that would be. Not sure if Katrina could be called turning a corner, but the teflon definitely been damaged and regardless of the MSM, the US and the world will no longer see them in the same way. When the veneer is stripped away, the 'Shock and Awe' folks are shown for what they are, 'Bluff and Bluster', the mamma's boy threatening to take his ball and go home.

27. Not picky at all, just seemed to fit the situation
The whole semi-voodoo vibe portrayed in Savannah was starting to come through 10 fold from GW's impending photo op. Might have been able to find a more localized reference, but that just seemed to fit so well.

Too, the astronomical signs weigh heavily against success of this new program. Yesterday was a day good for destroying pests and not a good day for planting.

Peace
