15.  How scared he must be to throw us a bone. This was for the
real Americans. He had to dig deep into Democratic ideals. This issue got through to the majority and he had to come to us to pull the wool back over the nation. Oh My . Where did he get that speech?

...Tucker Carlson said that Bush's "base" is going to have a shit fit over the "federal spending to right the wrongs of prejudice" riff.

14. Earth to Tweety:
It was a speech, written by someone to make Bush look like JFK or FDR.

Excellent speech. I am just not buying it. Too little, too late.

BushCo must be seriously running scared to have him air a "liberal" speech like this. Bush is no liberal, he's just trying to play one on TV for 20 minutes to get his numbers up.

anfd the darling folk on New Orleans and their wonderful, precious, irreplaceable culture will be replaced by Las Vegas style tourist crapola.

oh, BTW, Bush and Rove are insane.

16. A few things.
1) Did he mention the city of New Orleans by name when he opened? or did he just say "from the shores of Lake Ponchartrain".

2) "Vulnerable people left at the mercy of criminals" - what about no security, water or evacuation?

3) Tulane Hospital he mentioned workers who went without food. At Tulane Hospital if you couldn't say your own name and were a patient, you didn't get the IV for those last few days.

4) "Faith in God no storm can take away"

5) Bush's Eyebrows & frown do not match his mouth. Mouth had a hard time doing stern or somber and staying on message. Forehead did fine and followed the speech.

6) Finally some sweet words to the Red Cross.

7) "We will help people navigate bureaucracies". Perhaps with an oar. Bureaucracy is now the enemy. It was always the intended scapegoat.

8) On Reconstruction: "Taxpayers expect this to be done honestly & wisely". Yes Bush.. how do the non-taxpayers like Halliburton expect it to be done? We all know taxpayers are a shrinking group. What about the part of the country that doesn't pay taxes?

9)"Houses of Worship being reimbursed for their expenses" from the Clinton/Bush private fund no less. Okay - Bible passage?

10) When he spoke about failure and the need for Feds to take over response more - he couldn't help but look sideways and to his right. Who was he looking at. What was he stealing a "peak" at? Did someone react? What happened?

11) "As God who welcomes those to a house not made by hands". I take it people in NO were whining about materialistic things when they should have been happy about being in a "shelter not made by hands". How superficial of them. Victims of NO: zero. Bush's base: all white light and perfect one more time.

12) Prepare: "for a challenge of nature or act of evil men". A little vague - the base will read into that what they want. We all will.

13) Nice that housing & breaking the cycle of poverty is important - now.

14) Where is the federal land people can win in a lottery?

Pissed that we are handing them a blank check. And so did Fineman and Scarborough. I don't think this was what they wanted to hear,

I thought Landrieu (the brother) was all happy, and tweety brought him down.

23. Matthews should wipe Bush's jism off his mouth before he speaks
It's just so journalistically unprofessional to go on camera with all that chimpanzee jizz dripping from your lips. A good wipe, and he'd look much more presentable.

What a Nazi-fluffing asshole.

27. You're obviously failing to see how this helps us...
by comparing Bush to LBJ and FDR, Tweety is pissing off the Right-wingers. This will do more political damage to Bush than anything we could come up with. For Christ-sakes, we found a gay male prostitute in the White House and the Right-wingers didn't bat an eye, yet having Mathews call Bush FDR will freak them out.
