What is Sen. Reid's plan for investigative hearings?

I heard just a snippet on the radio news. He was saying there would be independent hearings. How is he going to do that, now that Hillary's bill was defeated?

1. It was my understanding that the Dems plan

involves following the path the 9/11 Families did to get their independent commission. They will enlist the survivors of the Hurricane and get them to press the case for a truly independent investigation.

It is my understanding that Reid and Pelosi have said that Dems have pledged not to show up for this 'bi-partisan' commission. Anyone know if this is true?

3. Is everyone calling her to demand the Dems walk away from

this sham? The one thing the Repugs fear is the American people getting a look at the Homeland Security budget. I guarantee it's so loaded with pork and cronyism it would be the undoing of this administration. If people find out how our money was actually spent and who was put in charge of protecting us, they're gonna come unglued!! We HAVE TO PRESS THEM HARDER THAN WE EVER HAVE to get this whole cabinet agency reviewed!!!
