Was there an official Democratic response to * 9/15/05 Katrina speech?
I was out last night and did not see the speech. Wondering if the networks that carried the * speech also carried the official Dem reply, and, if so, who the spokesperson was.

Just watched CSPAN re-broadcast of the * speech; they did NOT show a Dem reply.

1. Howard Dean spoke before the * speech on the View and on Paula Zahn's
show, in what was being termed a "presponse," but there was no televised response. Which may have been just as well, as for the moment Bushes strategy seems to be to pretend to become a democrat.

2. I saw the Dems on C-Span after the speech
and several of them spoke, including Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. The networks apparently chose not to cover this. But they offered clear criticism of Bush plans and of his handling of the Katrina aftermath.

3. Clarification needed
1. Did the networks cover *?

2. It appears there was no "official" rebuttal, rather a press opportunity by Reed, Pelosi, and others (who?).

3. If the networks covered *, did the networks cover the Dems press opportunity?

4. Networks only allow Dem rebuttal after State of the Union.
