Does it seem the media has spun back and Bush is to be forgiven for |
|
Katrina> His coverage has been immense! Why was the speech at the Cathedrel given almost as much press as a SOTU? And the tone is positive everywhere! This could really pump up his approval ratings. We even have Duers saying they liked his lying speech in the Church! Gag! Will it never end? I think I have run out of hope or am quickly getting there. Is there truly any hope for America? Are we really this stupid?

The Fox Affiliate in Chicago's instant analysis was
1) "Seems like he's just throwing money at the problem"
2) "Could have said that much a week ago"
3) "Blacks aren't going to give him credit"

3. Not terribly informed, but my impression from CBS |
|
I was wondering this too. Watching CBS last night, I noticed that refined gentleman say "...the president asked for air time...", and I was left wondering if I'd heard a note of distaste in his voice. As if, the president didn't "ask" for air time, but maybe demanded it, and that they didn't really want to give into it. Presidential address to further his politics; seemed like they saw into his using of private enterprise, in the guise of a national emergency.
I was left wondering if they're feeling used. Too. Finally.

We'll see. Any boost he gets will be temporary, I'm sure.

7. The media isn't comfortable being in the opposition. But, |
|
I think the free ride days are over for BushCo. The network execs obviously don't trust or like Bush much anymore.
In fact, the mass media could destroy Bush -- as they did Carter and tried to do to Clinton -- if that's what they wanted to do. That's why the speech last night was to announce a reconstruction plan for the U.S. Gulf Coast rather than a destruction plan for the East Bank of the Persian Gulf (Iran), that Bush would so obviously prefer.

doesn't want to be cast as being against the message. After all, who can be against rebuilding and equality, yada yada yada.
So the speech, itself, they cut him a break for.
I think he might be out of cards, tho.

with the financial pressure the MSM is experiencing right now and getting heat from * admin, it wouldn't surprise me if they rein in Cooper, Williams and so on...

10. Not Totally... Just Saw Dana Milbank And |
|
he was saying that Bush didn't have much to give people to rally around. And Milbank has been kinda Pro-Bushies many times. Of course TWEETY is a Numb-Scull and there's not HOPE for him. Sounds like he's still banging the drum for The Idiot!
