Buchanan: "There will be a backlash for banging Bush"
On "Countdown," talking about Bush's remarks that racism causes poverty, and how we will COME TO REGRET "banging" Bush (?) after he said "a nice thing."

Is Buchanan old enough to be senile?

Mr. "America First" who drives around in that nice, big, fancy Mercedes all the time.

Sorry, pat. I'm not going to stop bashing bush, or whatever mis-used terminology you select. It's not gonna happen, chucko.

NOW is the time to bash bush for all we're worth. He's weakened. What should we do - give him time to catch his breath and regroup, and then come out swinging even harder against us?

No, thank you. I think we need to keep it up, in ways big and small, like there's no tomorrow. WHATEVER weakness we find, we must exploit. EVERY quote we find from some evacuee who precisely fingers this misadministration for its laziness and lack of compassion and phony posturing and proselytizing, we should use. If we don't, we deserve the resurgent bush we WILL get.

NEVER let your enemy get a breather. You NEVER give them a chance to regroup, unless you want them to come back at you stronger, and madder, and more eager to settle scores and put YOU under.

Kick a man when he's down? In this case, YES!!!!!!! YOU BETCHA!!!!!!! ABSOLUTELY!!!! NO MERCY WHATSOEVER!!!!!! As though OUR lives depended on it. Because they do. And NOBODY deserves to be kicked, when he's down, up, or sideways, more than this schmuck.

If we kick him hard enough, and often enough, and relentlessly enough, and mercilessly enough, when he's down, we'll be that much better positioned to kick him OUT.

Besides, it's what bush would do, in a heartbeat, if the situation were reversed. So would the delays and roves and frists and hasterts and robertsons and santorums and mehlmans and the whole lot of vicious, ruthless, take-no-prisoners opportunistic infections that surround and make excuses for and cover up for him. Don't EVER doubt this. And it's exactly what pat would do, too, and what he'd forcefully endorse - to anyone he thought might listen.

What we should ALWAYS do against these guys is first - try to imagine or anticipate what they'd do to us if they get the slightest chance, and then DO IT TO THEM FIRST.

18. Jesus. Do you realize what Buchanan just said?
Bush broke with Republican ranks. Remember, they've just spent the last 25 years dismantling welfare because they blamed the poverty issue on laziness and denied the existence of racism. It was one racist lie, compounded over the other, but they managed to convince most Americans that it was okay to blame the victim.

Now Buchanan just admitted that Bush threw us a bone, and instead of understanding fully what he said, we're being small-minded in criticizing him over what seems like grammatical over-simplification. Remember, WE'VE always known that that racism causes poverty, but for a Republican to admit it must be historical.

24. apparently the 'nice' thing Mr. Bush said was that racism was directly
related to poverty. Until the Preznit was 'nice' enough to point that out, none of us saw the connection. Thank you George, you nice man.

Buchanan's not senile, I wish he had such an excuse, he's just a tool. I wish KO would not have him on so much, I'm sure the network forces him on him, since he works at MSNBC and presents the 'other' side.

29. Buchanan is an inveterate asshole
He seems to attract some applause in these forums from time to time, but he's nothing more than a flack and an enabler of the Republican effort to bankrupt this country financially, morally, and economically.

This country would be a lot better off without Mr. Buchanan polluting the airwaves.

And that goes for his skank sister, too.

he is still fondling his version of the Prickson tapes in his secret Bat cave...and he wants to change the conversation from conservative screw ups to their redemptive victory.

But he is a paleo con and there are enough wedge issues to exploit between his ilk and the neo's to make hay.

Yes, yes, I realize that he is a paleo-conservative and consequently is appalled by the Bush economic mess, as Bush has been spending wildly.

Still, don't understand the guy.

The thing is, he (like Bush as well) is hardly dumb, both are quite intelligent, in fact. I would so much like to understand how intelligent minds, such as both these two, are able to reach some of the conclusions they do.
