Barbara Boxer to Bush: "Instead of pathetic attempts to pass the buck..."

http://rawstory.com/news/2005/Democrats_savage_Justice_Department_over_move_to_blame_environmentalists_for_leve_0917.html

Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) fired off this statement to RAW STORY.

“If the President is sincere when he says he accepts responsibility for the abysmal federal response to Hurricane Katrina, he should instruct his Justice Department to stop trying to smear environmentalists by blaming them for the government's failure to shore up the levee system in Louisiana," the California Democrat said.

"This smacks of a political witch hunt," Boxer added. "Instead of pathetic attempts to pass the buck by blaming groups who are looking out for the health and well-being of Americans, the Bush Administration should marshal the Justice Department to stand up for the victims against the con artists and U.S. taxpayers from unscrupulous contractors."

Conyers said the email, if true, results in a "diversion of time and resources" and "political, rather than an attempt to pursue a legitimate law enforcement goal or objective."

Sen. Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) said in a statement to the Washington Post in Saturday papers that the Bush administration "should be ashamed of themselves" if they are seeking to blame environmental groups for the flooding and its bungled aftermath.

1. Remember, it's not the 'blame game'
when Karl Rove plays it.

3. They need to keep on digging the hole underneath....
Now they are truly desperate. Think about it, showering the blame on environmental groups???

Where was this used before? Nixon era.

Truly disdainful and dispicable. I can't believe the GOP is this far below the maturity level and can be so ignorant.

5. No Desire to Govern Well, Just to Control the Telling of It
Now at last, we know the limits of a "Presidency" that is not even about politics or governing, that is made up of corporate executives and corporate lobbyists, and that gears all of its actions and all of its concerns to the media, and not the people. This is the limit of the "marketing" idea that actually believes that if you advertise something bad as if it were good, that people will just brainlessly call it "good" even contrary to the evidence before them. It doesn't work forever, no matter how many buttons you push. Eventually, people start demanding real-world government services and an end to mind-breaking manipulation, just like before this group came along.

A little rich boy creep who has never even faced a real audience, or until recently, a real press, with reporters--fake backgrounds, fake "news" stories, smear campaigns against all others, and no matter what disasters happen in the real world, just laughing, and attacking, and strumming guitar, and faking everything. "Presidential," rather than President. Please let this be the beginning of the end of all this overly self-conscious consulting and posturing, and now a demand to return to the real world of governing. The corporatists who thought they were the cleverest at tricking us, and they were the most godawful, stupid, corrupt, disgraceful incompetent assholes the country has ever known--and they never had any intention of doing anything otherwise.
