RICHMOND — Virginia has been a tried and true friend to President Bush, but a new poll shows the Republican president is
losing the confidence of one of his best buddies.

Only 42 percent of likely voters rate Bush’s job performance as “excellent” or “good,” according to a state poll of likely voters conducted by
Mason-Dixon Polling & Research, based in Washington .

This bodes very badly for Bush.

2. Kaine should use this
He has a chance to beat Kilgore. All he has to do is run on Mark Warner's record and throw in a few jabs at Bush (especially in blue NoVa

3. Yea!
This Virginian believes if enough attention was paid to VA by the Dems, we would definitely be purple if not blue.

6. he seems to be

down about 10% relative to the November election results all over the Red States, i.e. also Kentucky polling and Texas polling I've seen. This poll shows a bit more, though within margin of error.

I'm a bit surprised that Red States and Blue States are roughly the same in this regard, with 10% drop being the national average.

But I'll gladly take it as it is.
