Jon Stewart's Emmy win(s)
Jon made a joke about how all his writers were 'Ivy-educated Jews', but...

was anyone else surprised to see that the writing team was made up ENTIRELY of men? No women... ?

2. hmm
I just thought this was odd... I had never been fortunate enough to see the show until this season, as I have been marooned in Europe. haha.

I was surpised that a show I found so totally right-on had no female writers.

9. Liz Winstead
who was one of the creators if I remember correctly, has a half hour of stand-up on Comedy Central they play every great once in awhile. I don't remember any specific jokes but I do recall it was a bit less then flattering to the bush administration. :)

10. Yes, they created the name, and they created the show that existed
before Jon's arrival, with Craig Kilborn. It wasn't even close to the same show. Kilborn was entertainment-based, no politics. Jon turned it into the show you see today.

3. Stewart's classy speech
I suppose this will be shuttled over the entertainment section if there is one.. but I thought Stewart's speech, when he praised Letterman for being "my generation's Carson" was great.

5. They have one woman on staff now
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115147/fullcredits

Rachel Axler, credits her joing in 2005 so she may not have been part of the win last night.

Other than her, they have had three women, including the two who created the show.

And to answer your question, not surprised, comedy writing has always been a boy's club. Some folks have even claimed that women can not be funny.

Not me though.

11. Is Kahane Corn a writer or just a producer?
There was one woman in the group last year.

Explains those dick jokes though doesn't it?
