Why should I care about Rep. voters who would benefit from Dems? |
|
I just can't figure out it out. All these lower income people who vote for Bush to "keep the terrorists" away or "he's a man of God". I mean, why should I care about them? I've dedicated my short life (24 years) since I was in my mid-teens to helping people, to making the world better for people who don't have alot. I want these people to be able to live where they want, have a good job, have health insurance, and if we can't do that, let's at least give them affordable housing, job training, and health insurance. Clearly, Democrats care more about the needy. Why do these people keep voting Republican, and why should I keep hitting my head off of the brick wall to get these people to vote Democratic? Why should I feel sorry for somebody who voted Republican, then loses their job or their house because of Republican greed? I try to be a good person, and care about everybody, but why should I care about somebody who didn't clearly care enough about themselves?
Ughh, frustrating.

Our prosperity depends on a strong America, not a gotcha America. And besides, it's just the decent thing to do,, the right thing to do. You still don't have to like them, just have compassion because we share a common humanity. :)
And I think a lot of them are a bunch of stupid, selfish jerks.
And shallow, I'd like to add shallow.

I don't feel sorry for those who voted for Bush. I don't wish them any harm, but I certainly don't waste my "beautiful mind" worrying about them. ;) If you ask them, they'll probably tell you it's high taxes that keep them from getting jobs, etc.
However, there are a ton of people out there who did vote against the moron, and they are suffering. They are the ones I care enough to keep working to help.

3. That's exactly what I'm talking about. |

You can only help those who want to be helped. If you don't care about your own life to vote for people who want to help you, you don't deserve the help. Now, if you're in a bit of a bind in life, and you're voting for a politician that genuinely cares about helping out the lower class, and it doesn't even mean a Democrat, there are some Republicans out there that advocate helping folks, I'll give you the shirt off of my back and fight for you.
