Kerry's Speech at Brown
I must say, this is a must read. It is easily one of the best speeches I have read in years.

John Kerry was not my first choice as a candidate for President. I leaned more to wards Dean and Clark...wanting that fire that I knew we needed so badly. However, After reading Kerry's speech, I began to realize that he was a noble representative of our party and would have made an outstanding leader of the free world.

Here are some of the thoughts that crossed my mind during and after reading the speech:

1) How much more intelligent this man is compared to Bush

2) I see an enormous "creativity" deficit in the present administration.

3) That while we (dems) are accused of being cynical and pessimistic, we are (can be) indeed the more optimistic of the two parties...we have vision for what America stands for...our national character means something to democrats.

4) Kerry's mention of JFK and the "dream" of being better than we are means a great deal to us.

5) Finally, Kerry's vision of America is my vision of America.

The speech nearly brought me to tears. Not just because of Kerry's ability to express an optimistic view of what we can become...But because I felt "regret" for what we have gone through and "what might have been."

THIS IS A MUST READ.

2. I would love to see Kerry use his prosecutorial background to
manage a win over this administration. Any win.

3. I totally agree with your assessment.
As I read the speech, I was once again reminded of what it takes to be a true leader and I wondered what our country would be like today had Kerry-Edwards won.
They had a vision and recognized that there are "two Americas." And they warned about what would happen if we continued with the same failed leadership. Now we know they were right.
At least 49% of us knew how to recognize leadership.

4. Same Here...
It was sort of cathartic to read the speech. It was like I suddenly realized what this was all about. I began to understand why I am a democrat.

5. Kerry was and is my choice
I know that our country would be a much better place had all votes been counted and all voters allowed to vote.

6. Yes
I love hearing John Kerry speak. I know it sounds silly but when he does, to me, it's like every word he says is in perfect poetry. *sigh* I could listen to him speak all the time.

7. Kerry's speech
was damn near perfect. We have heard some good things from Clinton, Edwards, Kerry and others recently, but I agree.
This was the speech I've been waiting to hear.
Thank you for posting.
