May Have Been Posted...BUT Is MSM or Anyone Covering The March In DC???
This could have already been posted and discussed, but I have heard NOTHING on the news or anywhere about the D.C. March. Are ANY media covering the event. If not, shouldn't we write or advertise BIG TIME???

I realize advertising has been done to some extent, but I'm still hearing NOTHING, even on C-Span!

3. "The Guy James Show" wanted to cover it but the DNC
The DNC would not allow us to use their new studio because, as they put it:

"the Party is not an official sponsor nor connected to the Peace Rally. As you know, Democratic Senators and House members have various positions on the way to achieve the peace and thus we are not advocating any particular course of action but are asking President Bush what his plan is: it is he who is the Commander in Chief"

Is this a cop-out or wimpy position or what? Sometimes I wonder if my own Party is really "Progressive" at all. Or are they mired in the past with their feet stuck in the quicksand of "doing things the way we've always done them".

And I don't give a flying-fig what the congressmen and senators think! I'm pretty fed up with many of the "wimpys!"

8. On MSNBC this morning
the White House Correspondant mentioned that it was ironic that Pres. Bush would be back in the Gulf on Saturday when big anti war rally was scheduled. That is the only thing I heard so far.

15. C-Span DOES NOT Have This On Their Schedule!!!
We need some ACTION here! Write to events@c-span.org and request coverage. And any other outlets too. What's MSNBC & CNN doing, probably NOTHING!

We need COVERAGE!!!

18. It will be covered if
(1) there is violence or (2) a half million or more show
The kicker is Rita.....if she strikes the coast going into the weekend it will hurt coverage.

20. C-Span not MSM
Unfortunately, even if we get it on C-Span most of America won't see it. I think we should be writing to all MSM too. Does anyone have links? Thanks.

21. The Shrub is planning to NOT be in Washington on that day.
This is what I heard on the news about an hour ago. No surprise here. He'll probably have his shirtsleaves rolled up that day, haunting New Orleans or Galveston.

22. Suggestion for whoever is organizing this
They need to send press releases to ALL MAJOR media at least two days before the event, and in that press release they need to explain that this protest will be the largest assembled since the one in February of 2003, etc. etc. etc.

In other words, you need to justify in that press release why they should commit resources to cover this.

It's worked for me in the past! Thanks!

23. Why don't you? I'm sure they'd be grateful for the help.
Doesn't matter if it's official or not. In fact, if the press got a couple dozen "citizen press releases" it might have a major impact.
