Leahy smacks down Grassley
Just now in the Roberts nomination hearing:

Grassley made his speech supporting Roberts talking about the leftists who always vote no on Republican nominees because they're in the palm of interest groups and comparing the Roberts nomination to the Ginsburg ones.

At the end, Leahy said, "All right, now leave the past in the past with Ginsburg who was suggested by a Republican congress. And to suggest that the Democrats are in the palm of special interest groups and Republicans aren't!"

Chimes in Ed Kennedy, "Well, I've voted for more Republican nominees than anyone here, so he can't be talking about me!"

I was just thinking while watching his statement, Just what will we do when he is no longer here with us and in our corner?

6. Grassley - my seantor - is such an embarrassment to Iowa
I just cringe every time that idiot is on the news. He is so fucking stupid, such a water carrier for Bush, and sounds like he just stepped out of the pig sty. Iowa really is a progressive state, or at least used to be.

8. I shook JFK's hand
I grew up in Eastern Massachusetts in the 50's and I once shook JFK's hand when he visited my town one summer.

I don't understand how his brother Teddy is so often brain-dead. I think somebody snuck-in ahead of Joe.

9. "Brain-dead"?
I don't think so.

He's a very good speaker, and he's been sticking up for the have-nots for a very long time.

11. So what? "Big Bad Leahy" is stupid enough to trust Bush.
He can get defensive all he wants- he is still voting for a guy who lied to congress.

I'll take a LEADER like Kerry or Boxer.
