Bush's speech and "Able Danger" ? Any connection ?

It just seemed so untimely and inappropriate at this time. I'm scratching my head and wondering why he's talking about terrorism with a devastating hurricane just hours from our shores?? Could it be that the "war on terror" is the justification for every criminal act that has been committed or may be committed in the future? Yeah, they knew about Atta and it was concealed from the public but that is why we are fighting the terrorists there so we don't have to fight them here bullshit....? Something very strange going on here?

I hope the Oversight Committee (is that the one?) slaps the Pentagon censors with contempt charges. They have to be forced to talk if necessary. After all, the Pentagon people don't seem to stop at anything to make people talk.

3. No, they're trying to ratchet up his one "strength" before more defeat

Rove is going to have the Boy King running around screaming "Terra, Terra, Terra" for a couple of weeks.

Also, no doubt they see the peace rally this weekend as a threat against their collective pseudo-masculinity, so they need to pound their chests and trumpet more.

5. Probably...what was odd though is that he seems to repeat the same

speech over and over and uses the same words. And, he was lecturing the Press almost like he's trying to convince himself that the terrorists hate us for our "freedoms" and a "free society doesn't have terrorists."

Either he doesn't know more than one or two versions of the same speech he's been giving since 9/11 or they keep telling him to keep on message because that's what's worked before and they hope it will again.

What was worse was to see Cheney smiling and almost covering up what seemed to be chuckling off to the side. What in the world could make him chuckle at Bush's ramblings.

Bush is so bizarre I have to finally believe what folks are saying..that he's drinking or snorting again. But, what the hell are those around him doing? Are they so lock step they don't see how odd his same old..same old ramblins are? :crazy:

Also, repetition of simplistic phrases has been one of the chief tools of propagandists for generations. It makes them sound "strong" without really saying anything.

in a Dungeons & Dragons group I was in, a player had a really dumb 6 intelligence character who scared away some bad guys by lighting a torch. From then on, no matter what the group faced, the first thing this character did was light a torch.

7. no, you're right - I think they want to scare people

George has to prove he can "get it up" so that means mass arrests and militarism on parade. I suspect we're going to see harassment and arrests this weekend - I think the people on hand are ready for it. In fact, I have stuff on hand ready to fax/email to the proper folk in case anyone is arrested.

These are the times that try men's souls -- we're in a fight for our country. It's going to scare the monsters, but to the very same amount that they mobilize to fight it, the normal folk will mobilize against them. It's always been that way.

Right now, the poor and middle class have little left to lose by showing up in public.
