This country has valued mediocrity for a long, long time. The fact that the White House has refused to hand over requested papers, and Roberts pointed refusual to answer pertinent questions should alone be enough to disqualify him. If honorable men and women were deciding his fate, that is how it would end. But instead, the whole process is intitiated, maintained and justified by partisan hacks. If I have no use for Republicans who will vote for Roberts, by the same token, I have no respect for Democrats who choose to do so.
It's pitiful, really, and more than a little sad.

should tell us what kind of government we currently have. They have ignored both of the so called checks & balances in this system. First the Courts now the Congress.
They don't believe they are answerable to anyone. They do whatever they please when they please.

6. I'm not a DEM basher- but I feel great about the "no" votes from DEMs. |
|
The "yes" votes from DEMs who still think its good political strategy to trust Bush are uninspiring.

When will you begin to understand that Americans are allowed to criticize their own 'representatives' in a democracy?
Remember the term: Public Servants?
