Is it possible Karl Rove leaked the "booze crisis" story |
|
for political gain? It just struck me that Bush's problem (beyond incompetence) is the perception of apathy. Wouldn't this reaction "prove" that he really does care? Would it make a difference to the sheeple?

I am suspicious of a disinformation campaign here.....
expect to see Bush's personal physician come out and deny the story with medical "proof" that will, of course, be counterfeit.

2. Nah. He only leaks CIA undercover operatives identities. |
|
This is all small potatoes for him. Besides he's so hard at work on reconstructing NOLA where would he find the time? :sarcasm:

3. I Think Rove Indeed May Have Leaked The Booze Crisis Story |
|
But, it's the early part of a process of easing him out of office before the mid-term elections. Cheney will be president.

4. Nah. His fundie fanatical fruitcake followers, especially the oldies, |
|
wouldn't feel comfortable with him being a drunk. For Pete's sake, you're forgetting this guy talks to Jesus. He practically walks on water to these basketcases. Mr. Perfect. Perfection would not partake in an overabundance of alcohol. He might have at one time, but he's repented and reformed. Just ask 'em.

5. first thing I thought of: why is Nat. Enq. doing this story? |
|
We all know the National Enquirer has been quite supportive of Bush. They certainly haven't ragged on the Bush twins, they've run nasty "Hil to dump Bill" stories each week, and have generally been very sympathetic to the Bush regime. They've even conspired with Schwarzeneger to hide his affairs by paying off mistresses and friends of mistresses who might talk. Now this. Could this be Rove's way of protecting his own future?

18. And they supposedly had a 'gay' pic of shrub |
|
Edited on Thu Sep-22-05 04:34 PM by RadiDem
The story ( from Skolnick (sp?) ) goes that as part of the skull and bones rituals, member are made to perform 'simulated' gay sex acts, that are captured on film. This makes them 'black mailable' if they decide to betray a fellow bonser. ( The bones ties are stronger than family )
The Enquirer was reportedly in possession of a pic of shrub and Victor Ashe cavorting nude in a coffin.
Skolnick suggests that Bushco attacked the Enquirer with Anthrax to stop publication of the pic.
It is far-fetched, but who knows.......

7. Possibly, this might make certain |

people feel sorry for him and restore the perception that he cares so much he just is overcome with stress and needed to fall off the wagon. Has a kind of a Rovian logic to it. The sheeple might just buy it, after all, lots of them might be downing a six pack now and then, makes him more human. I'm convinced the sheeple will believe anything, but there are less of them now. The rest of us will be horrified that a drunk whose off the wagon is now in charge of our National Security, has the key to our nuclear arsenal, and hits the sauce as soon as he is needed to be competent in an emergency.

There is no way to predict how people will interpret his drinking. A lot of people, even Repukes I know, frown on it. I know they are frowning on it because they are denying the hell out of it.

to smear their 'hard working' *. Isn't this how they've done it before? Or maybe the bushbots will be convinced the drunk is a sign of strength and virtue. He's drinking because HE CARES!!!! dammit.
No doubt they will also plant troublemakers to incite violence at this weekends' march.

George needs to go on a real vacation.

16. If indictments hit major officials in the Bush Administration |
|
alcoholism might give Bush a plausible way to resign and even get some sympathy for being the victim of a disease. I find it strange that close insiders are leaking this information. Apparently, the National Enquirer has more than one source on the inside.
