- It is not easy to wreck the economy, mollycoddle the rich, dismantle social security and promote creationist superstition if voters get the impression you are not a great leader after all.

- Perhaps he will personally usher refugees into limousines that will take them to safety and return later to bask in the adulation.

- He may have milked all the political rehabilitation to be had from hanging around looking sympathetic.
