It wasn't Rove or Chaney:what WH "aide" has power to order Bush around?
According to an unnamed White House aide, Bush was minutes away from leaving the WH to head to San Antonio for another photo op, when his trip was cancelled because the weather was too sunny and photos wouldn't look like he was close to the hurricane action. Officially it was announced he didn't want to interfere with the FEMA search and rescue teams, but amazingly a WH source leaked that the real reason was the sunny weather.

Now yesterday Chaney was under the knife and then recovering from the surgery; Rove was at a fund raiser in Nebraska, Idaho, or somesuch Red State. There's no mention of Rice being with Bush. So if it was none of those high level puppet masters jerking Bush's strings around on his travel plans, one has to wonder how far down the chain of command in the WH are there people we've never even heard of who can order the "leader of the free world/wartime presdint/commander in chief around?!?!?

Can you even begin to imagine a White House "aide" making last minute changes like this on a REAL president? Or maybe the "sunny weather" excuse was a distraction and the real reason was that he looked too hung over (as has been discussed on another thread) for a photo op.

"Mr. President, here's the pizza you wanted and by the way, I've ordered the pilot of Air Force One to deep six the flight plan to San Antonio, and just take you to Colorado." Bush: "Whatever."

4. Hot sunny weather in San Antonio versus a resort in Colorado
Edited on Sat Sep-24-05 10:03 PM by Gman
to watch what's going on? He'd looked better in San Antonio which was on the dry side of Rita. Going to Colorado reminds me of Bush flying all over the country while running scared during 9/11.

5. Nobody nor their horse's *ss
believes that rot about canceling so he wouldn't be in the way of first responders. Similarly, I don't believe the bit about too sunny in S.A. What I think comes closer to the mark, since they picked a "war room" in Col. Sprgs. is that this had to do with the possibility that some mad anestheseologist was going to over-inflate D*ck-boy when he was having his aneurysm surgery, which would mean that B*sh would have to go into the remote caverns, leaving the Rover and Condi to direct surface traffic and the Living Cadaver Ch*rtoff to impersonate the POTUS.

6. I don't buy the "too sunny" explanation either.
Was he drinking, or was something else going on...?

8. That was the excuse on 9/11, too, remember?
"They" wouldn't let him go back to DC? "They" insisted he had to go to Nebraska? Then "They" finally decided he could return when it seemed safe enough?

The leader of the free world can't say, "Take me to the White House NOW damn it!" without getting it done?

10. Unless my tin foil suspicions are slightly accurate...
That the whole Rove or Cheney-Is-In-Charge deal was always a cover to throw the scent away from Bush who plays the idiot well, just as he disguises his upper-crust Eastern elite pedigree with his rural Texas drag. Maybe this political persona ranks up there with Vinny Gigante's crazy act.

Of course, I could be wrong...

12. Just because Rove has an alibi doesn't mean he can't use a phone
or give instructions.
