Local Coverage of the March
I just saw the evening news on Channel 7 here in Washington. I was surprised at the picture they painted.

They estimated the number of protesters to be only 300K!

Also, there was a huge emphasis on the counter protesters and the face-offs between them.

Every time they interviewed a demonstrator they showed an interview with a Freeper.

The report never estimated the number of counter demonstrators.

1. that's because there were only five freepers there.
They didn't have to estimate, and were embarassed to tell the real count.

:toast:

4. I'm just shocked that the local news in a town like DC
has been corrupted like that.

2. So they covered both sides
of the discussion, so to speak. Aren't reporters supposed to do that? There has to be equal coverage, not slanted toward one side or another. Period. Real fairness and accuracy.

6. Sounds tome like they were being slanted.
The were maybe 100 freepers there and at least 100,000 of us. To give them equal time is to slant the story.

which network is Channel 7. I do remember that Channel 5 is Fox.

8. WJLA. Leon Harris (formerly of CNN) is the big anchorman
but the weekend crew is on tonight.

9. From reading the Wash Post, it seems Chief Ramsay
did a good job. It's interesting to me how much better the DC police handle crowds than the New York police seem to do, at least from reading articles in the papers.
