Viggo Mortensen blasts * on Charlie Rose Show |
|
A very articulate and powerful indictment by Viggo on this administration calling * an evil man and making a case for impeachment. Well worth the time to catch this video from Crooks and Liars. It's currently the third item on the page. Link: http://www.crooksandliars.com/2005/09/24.html#a5091

1. I saw it the other day.... |

He was using some pretty strong Anti-Bush rhetoric. I wouldn't be surprised if Bushco put him on the hit list.

Love that he presented a copy of "People's History of the United States" to Charlie Rose. That hump badly needs to read it.

I may be a hypocrite in that I am not a fan of athletes being asked to run for office. However, I think Viggo Mortensen, if he is American, should run for some office like senate.
I would like to explain why I am against athletes being asked to run for office. In many cases when athletes are asked to run for office the are asked for reasons that have nothing to do with politics. In most cases they have said very little if anything about politics; mainly they have just done well in their sport. For instance, Tom Brady who is a very good/great quarerback. However, when he was asked if he would seek office he had not made one politcial statement. The only things he had done were win three superbowls and sit next to Laura Bush during a State of the Union address. Even with Lance Armstrong, he was asked if he would run for office even though he had not said anything about politics. Later he did make the comments about funding the war versus funding cures for Cancer.
With Viggo I did not endorse the idea of him running for office until I had heard him speak about the issues. I think someone should not be asked to run for office just because they made a few good movies or because they were a multiple champion in their sport. They should only be asked to run once they have been able to cogently talk about political issues.
