Bill O'Reilly: "Danny Glover called Bush a racist. That's slander."
There are two rules for guests here on "The Factor." No slander and no personal accusations without facts to back them up. If the guest violates those rules, they are scolded by me and will not be invited back. And only a few have violated the rules.

Now let me give you some examples of slander. Actor Danny Glover (search) called President Bush a racist. That's slander. How about irresponsible allegations? Well, here's a letter from Carol I got today. She lives in Cleveland. "O'Reilly, Phil Donahue cleaned your clock. He speaks the truth. There are many of us who, like Jeremy Glick, believe that George W. Bush orchestrated9/11." Well, that's the kind of dopey stuff we try to keep off "The Factor." Sometimes we fail.

Subsequently, Mr. Donahue has appeared here a couple times. And although he's inclined to filibuster, I thought the segment's worthwhile to show the far left's point of view. Now I've advised Mr. Donahue on a number of occasions not to use personal attacks. Yesterday, he ignored that advice and you'll see the results shortly.

In the world of the far left, it is now acceptable to accuse a president and vice president and sending young Americans to Iraq to be killed and maimed, so their friends at Halliburton can make money. And anyone who supports the Iraq strategy is also guilty of sending kids to die and is a coward to boot.

7. Okay, my response to this bullshit
There are two rules for guests here on "The Factor." No slander and no personal accusations without facts to back them up. If the guest violates those rules, they are scolded by me and will not be invited back. And only a few have violated the rules.

Oh, you self-righteous prick. You personally attacked Jeremy Glick, told Al Franken to "shut up" and threatened Phil Donahue with violence. You also have told your viewers that being against the war and working for peace is un-American. You violate your own rules, asshat. . .you need to shut up!

Waaah! Did Danny say something about the man who's ass your tongue is up? Waah! Danny needs to shut up, shut up, just shut up, right? He doesn't have the right to an opinion. Especially one a "fair-and balanced no spin" asshat like you don't like? Again "shut up, shut up, just shut up!"

What are you going to do, Billy? Send Phil to his room without supper? Ten minutes in timeout? Refuse to allow him on your show again? Damn, I'm sure Phil will complain about that, as he laughs at how much of a hypocrite and dickhole you are!

In the world of the far left, it is now acceptable to accuse a president and vice president and sending young Americans to Iraq to be killed and maimed, so their friends at Halliburton can make money. And anyone who supports the Iraq strategy is also guilty of sending kids to die and is a coward to boot.

And in the world of the far right (which you are a part of), it is now acceptable to accuse an American and groups of Americans of being soldier hating, America hating, unpatriotic and "French" for being against a war that has been proven time and time again to be based on lies and war profiteering. I'm glad your nephew is going to Iraq (G-dspeed to him) but are your kids going to Iraq? About about Tony Snow's, or Brit Hume's or Neil Cavauto's (if they have any), or George Bush's? No, because poor and middle class lives are cheap. If you support the war so much, send your kids. Put your money where your mouth is and enlist your kids in the war effort your support. If you don't, you ARE A COWARD, and so are you kids if they don't sign up to die while supporting the war! Again, "shut up, shut up, just shut up!"

Sweet Jesus, I hate Billy-boy O'Reilly.

And with his ratings such as they are, it might not be such a bad idea for him to get in a little cross-training at company expense.

Remember -- SOMECOMPANY went to court and WON regarding the need for news to be honest. It defended with the fact that their parent is in the entertainment industry. And that's as much as any thinking person needs to know.

12. Donohue didn't pull any punches
As willing as FOX is to cut microphones, I can only imagine how much editing they do. Did we see the whole interview, or only what they wanted us to see? I hope Donohue has an agreement with them such that they can't edit him to pieces.

14. Here's the recent Glover quote I'm familiar with:
I posted it on DU right after he said it. I know of no other quote in which he specifically calls Bush a racist.

http://news.softpedia.com/news/Robin-Williams-and-Bill-Cosby-Slams-George-Bush-8956.shtml

Film director and actor Glover said, "When the hurricane struck, it did not turn the region into a Third World country - it revealed one," while American calypso musician Belafonte added, "Katrina was not unforeseeable. It was the result of a political structure that abdicates its responsibility”.

25. Thanks -- sorry I'm so late getting back. I was hoping...
(from the magnitude of O'Roarley's tantrum) that Glover had really let fly and called Bush a "racist pig" or something like that.

But knowing how O'Roarley lies, I should have figured it was...well, as the Bard said: "a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."

In short, just like so many other Republican claims and accusations.

But thanks again!

30. Funny thing is...
Your post isn't slanderous. The truth is an affirmative defense. Now here's slander with regard to O'Reilly:

"Bill O'Reilly is a serious and uncompromising journalist. He places the highest professional values upon scrupulously maintaining his independence and..."

Oh, fuck it. I can't write that crap anymore even as a joke.

18. Notice how O'Reilly doesn't, you know, QUOTE Glover?
He simply says that Glover called Bush a racist. Now, if Glover stated it straight out that Bush is a racist, why wouldn't O'Reilly run a clip of that? Instead, O'Reilly just says that Glover called Bush racist. Interesting spin there, Falafel Boy. Some people would call you dishonest.

I kid you not. The same Bill O'Lielly we all know and love. Hot and dirty and very very very bad writing.

For anyone who is not yet familiar, he has the same shower scene in his book that cost him a fortune in legal fees in real life.

Seriously. Look it up! :)

to Phil's aghast, incredulous explanation that her son is dead, when asked by his nibs what was the biggest punch in the face a mother can have(!), was "Oh. OK, then...". I believe that is verbatim, though the audio file seems to have been edited. Perhaps, O'Reilly should be called, O'Kaythen.
