The Sunday morning shows have literally put me to sleep lately... |
|
I get up early and kick back on the couch to watch This Week, Meet The Press etc every Sunday. Usually I am rapt with attention, but for about a month now, they have been knocking me completely cold. I remember John McCain popping up on screen saying his same old bullshit and then next thing I know the show is over. I flip it to MTP and immediately Russert put me to sleep. He just mentioned his guests and I was zonked out. I woke up for a few minutes to hear that one guy yelling out him and then nodded off again. I didn't wake up until 2:30. Man, these shows have the same guests over and over again saying the same things they said 2 years ago and when they do mix it up they have some snore fest guest list that makes Joe Leiberman seem exciting. I heard Russert mention Tom Friedman and David Brooks and it was like somebody tranq'ed me.
The worst was Michael Chertoff a few weeks ago. Man, nothing more snooze inducing than to listen to an inept life-long bureaucrat try to explain himself. He made me sleepy for nearly the whole week.

1. I don't know why anybody watches those shows |
|
I never wasted my time on them. Some politicians just like to listen to themselves talk, going from show to show, week to week. Nothing revealing is ever said, and the media just uses these shows to generate news on what is otherwise a slow news day.
Sunday mornings for me are for sleeping.

2. Wow, I envy you your sleeping ability... |

I have this dumb cat who wakes me up every morning at seven a.m. for her breakfast and keeps yowling and pawing at me until I finally get up and once I'm up, I can't go back to sleep. I can only figure that Russert is paying her, and once I find that stash, I'm taking her hairy butt to the pound.
Oh no, sweet Coco Kitty. I would never do that...
