Bush calls upon Americans to curb non-essential travel, well, maybe
he should set an example and stay at his desk and do some work instead of flying all over the country at our expense checking out the state of oil refineries and other damaged areas. What does he have his huge staff for, anyway? The same for all of the other repub. politicos. Stay at your office and get the work of the people done. I wonder if any of them ever did a real "requires thought" days work since they were elected!

1. Why doesn't he put on paper wings for his next air trip?

Maybe they could be made of tissue paper.

2. Work??? he doesn't know what the word means
But I agree he should stop flitting around on AF One, guzzling all that fuel.

3. Good answer
Flyin' down to San Antonio and back up to Norcom, you'd think the White House doesn't have its own Situation Room, fully equipped to maintain contact with any number of folks all over the country and the world by audio and video.

But this isn't about Bush overcompensating for his failures during Katrina, so stop saying that!

6. He needed to get back to Texas
so he could be near Crawford. It's like his safe place - where he can fall of bikes all day long and no one knows (unless he scrapes his face up).

4. That was my reaction too
He's a poster boy for non-essential trips. Then again, moving around the country like he does gives him access to hotel mini-bars so I don't expect him to slow down his non-essential travel.

5. He's talking to those of us in the middle and at the bottom.
No matter what happens - no matter how bad things get - the very wealthy will never change their lifestyles, Bush included.

8. Hitch a ride on Air Force One ...
It's sure to be flying over your neighborhood soon (that would be ESSENTIAL travel).

9. I'll wait for the DeLay Special
cause that's the plane that goes to Saipan where I can get my "Made in America" clothes directly!
