CBS: Michael Brown re-hired by FEMA as consultant.
I am not shiting you.
It was just on the CBS evening news that Michael Brown has been re-hired by FEMA as a consultant to find out what went wrong with the Katrina response.
I am speechless.
Words fail.

32. It's just a way the politico's ensure a pay check for their people.
It happens all the time. I sure hope this focuses attention on the number of former Fed. employees who leave and soon return as "consultants" earning pay checks they could never earn as regular civil servants.

Come on, let's shine a much needed light on these "consultants."

You just have to wonder what this administration is using for brains. Things have gotten much worse since Karne Hughes came back. Maybe she has lost her touch?

Actually the US is paying him. They print the money and the US dollar is the world's choice for foreign reserves. Not to mention oil, the backbone of modern civilization, is traded in dollars. Japan still owns more US debt than China does.

I'm actually pleased to hear this in a gallows-humor way. Brownie's gonna do ANOTHER heckuva job!!!

Can you imagine the field day every comedian on the planet will have with this? And the more they laugh, the bigger a laughing stock bush becomes. Um, YEAH. SUUUUUUUUUUURE bush is fixing the Katrina mess!

This could play BEAUTIFULLY into our hands, guys. If I was sent as a mole to hire in and give them bad advice, this is what I'd recommend.

I'm constantly in awe of how blatant they are. Seriously. Has it gotten to the point that Americans are so oblivious that they can just flip us off right in our faces without worrying about consequences or ramifications? Has any other administration been so openly hostile to the people? It blows my mind....
Whatever Scotties answer is... you can be sure its bullshit.

Is Brownie Still On the Payroll?
September 26th, 2005

The Daily Nightly reports:

It turns out that former FEMA director Michael Brown is being retained by the agency as a “consultant.”

Brown was on the Hill today to speak with staff at a special House committee in preparation for his testimony at a Tuesday hearing on Katrina. In the session, Brown said that he was working as a consultant “to provide a review” of Katrina preparations and immediate aftermath, according to two congressional sources.

Your level of employment is directly proportional to the number of dead bodies you know the location of. If you can't shut him up, hire him and make him sign some confidentiality agreement. That is why nobody is ever fired for christ sake!

what Brown knows that the WH doesn't want revealed. He really acted surprised and offended when he was removed from the FEMA position. Maybe after he had his marguarita he decided to blackmail them if they didn't give him a job.
There was one report that he could not find a job, even with his "enhanced" resume.
