Also I notice:

I haven't seen anyone else mention the arm position of her right arm: 1. Her forearm is crossing over in front of her instead of being at her side as it would be in a normal casual walk. That's an inefficient movement but many people do it when walking fast or running. Nobody crosses their forearm across their front when just walking casually. 2. Her right elbow is bent almost at 90 degrees. Again, nobody does that in casual walking, unless they have a purse hanging in the crook of their elbow, and she doesn't appear to. 3. Her shoulders are also turned slightly in the direction of the arm movement. Same story--no casual walk.

Her face also seems to be turned away from him AND from the cameras, and there's nothing there for her to be looking at but the wall.

David H. Safavian has been arrested.

He was the Bush Administration’s top federal procurement official.

He was accused of lying and obstructing criminal investigations of Republican lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

During Safavian's confirmation questions were asked about his alleged lobbying for Abdurahman Alamoudi, who made comments in support of Hezbollah and Hamas.

Apparently his firm, Janus-Merritt Strategies, did represent Alamoudi. Alamoudi was eventually convicted and imprisoned for accepting money from Libya in a plot to assassinate a Saudi prince.

Reportedly Janus-Merritt Strategies changed the forms in 2001 to say that its client was not Alamoudi but Jamal Barzinji.

Then Barzinji was named in a search warrant affidavit by a Customs Service official as "the officer or director" of a group of entities in Northern Virginia "controlled by individuals who have shown support for terrorists or terrorist fronts."

No charges have been filed yet.

Safavian also worked for Gabon and Pascal Lissouba, the former president of the Republic of Congo who has been tried for treason and embezzlement.

Safavian worked closely with lobbyist Jack Abramoff and founded Janus-Merritt Strategies with Grover Norquist.

He has also represented Pakistan in military sales matters and cooperated with the Islamic Institute in an effort to promote a U.S. postage stamp commemorating Ramadan.

His wife, Jennifer is apparently the chief counsel for oversight and investigations at the House Committee of Government Reform, which oversees federal procurement policy matters.

Representative Tom Davis of Virginia is the Chairman of that Committee. What kind of reform is he up to?



Here is part of a memo from David H. Safavian about procurement :



“C.—The Office of Federal Procurement Policy (OFPP), in conjunction with the Department of Defense (DoD) and the General Services Administration (GSA), has announced a partnership to ensure civilian and defense acquisition workforces receive similar training and development opportunities at a shared facility. “This new partnership will ensure that the right people get the right training at the right time. We look forward to working with DoD to ensure that we train our acquisition workforce to serve the entire Federal Government, not just a single agency,” said OFPP Administrator David H. Safavian.”
