Gambling911.com Sponsor Posts Odds on Bush Drinking Problem
http://www.emediawire.com/releases/2005/9/emw289525.htm

Miami Beach, Fla. (PRWEB) September 24, 2005 -- BetCRIS.com, the oldest established offshore sportsbook, has taken www.gambling911.com up on its dare to post "President Bush drinking odds." This after The National Enquire published its story of how President Bush reportedly has fallen off the wagon in wake of Hurricane Katrina.

According to the National Enquirer piece, written by Jennifer Luce and Don Gentile, Bush, who said he quit drinking the morning after his 40th birthday, has started boozing amid the Katrina catastrophe. Family sources have told how the 59-year-old president was caught by First Lady Laura downing a shot of booze at their family ranch in Crawford, Texas, when he learned of the hurricane disaster. His worried wife yelled at him: "Stop, George." She was later quoted as saying 'It's Jim Beam or me" according to the tabloid.

Since tabloid stories often border a fine line between fact and fiction (with tabloids lying heavily on the "fiction" side), www.betCRIS.com found it a perfect opportunity to place odds on Bush falling off the wagon. Who better to stoke the flames of a National Enquirer story than an online sportsbook? This question was asked by popular satiric online gambling news web site www.oddjack.com.

Such is the case of BetCRIS.com, which after being poked and prodded (a la Gambling911.com) has released odds on whether or not our indisposed, formerly dipsomaniacal president is truly back on the sauce again after allegedly suffering a relapse after the Hurricane Katrina controversy. Bush exposed for drinking alcohol during his presidency is featured with odds of 5 to 1. Compare that with 15 to 1 odds that Bush actually admits to drinking alcohol. Bush checking into a rehab program is listed with 40 to 1 odds. Bush becoming a preacher is listed with 2 to 1 odds. Bush converting to Judaism is posted with 300 to 1 odds. Bush becoming a Muslim is posted with 500 to 1 odds.

1. I'll take the 40 to 1 rehab bet
It'll be some faith-based rehab program though.

3. Re. I believe it! Bush looks like a drunk!
My first impression of GWB was, "He's a drunk!" I mean if you understand that fact, you understand the man, and you understand his actions...Very poor impulse control like invading Iraq back in '03.

6. Supply and demand
and if the Rethugs don't like it they should wait for the market to correct itself (i.e. demand to wane).

7. I read all three sites
& can't figure out how to bet. I also can't figure out how it's determined if he's drinking again. I'm sure he is, but what kind of proof it needed? I'd certainly willing to put $10 or $20 down.

Although, the idea of that mental midget drinking scares the hell out of me.

best
