Brown on C-Span - what a piece of shit he is
Well he admits to two mistakes ..

1) He let the media determine when he was going to be on instead of taking the lead and telling them when he was going to be on TV.

2) He should have sat Blanco and Negus down and made them resolve their differences.

Now he's defending :sarcasm: his background and blaming internet sites and the media.

What a sham!!

3. True, but he seemed to be arguing against...

...Bush's idea of federalizing response.

4. yeah, but is he going to blab and blab about Bush's drinking
that could get really boring

from Atrios
<snip>
And now I will leave you to guess where this bit of gossip came from, because I promised not to tell. But one of the above-mentioned folks called me this afternoon to say that according to sources within the Enquirer itself, the source for Bush's drinking story is -- an incredibly pissed-off, recently scapegoated head of a federal agency who thinks that BushCo. done him wrong.

5. Blanco and Nagin had better get ready to set the record straight.
I hope they have their documents, phone logs, and other shit together. I heard with my own ears that the Northern Command had been deployed and sitting waiting for Bush's orders. I heard and saw with my own ears and eyes that up to five days AFTER Katrina, FEMA and the military still had not been seen or heard from in many places in MS and AL.

19.  And It is sticking and stinking up the room

Taylor was excellent...

Start address: Atlanta, GA
End address: New Orleans, LA
Distance: 469 mi (about 9 hours 40 mins)

Food for Everyone was only 9 hours away. (40 MRE trailers with 18,000 meals each near Atlanta)

Only 2 MRE trailers at the Superdome(1 meal each)?? plenty of time after Sat noon to move the supplies to N.O. assuming that the Superdome would not be swept away. Moving some food into the disaster area in advance, could have avoided so much of the suffering, you schmuck!

13. Shays-CT: "You should have known"
I want to know what you did. Said Guiliani would have been better. Brown is on the defensive and said he doesn't want to be berated. He's getting hot under the collar. Said he didn't have the money. Said he couldn't pull it magically out of the air. Shays said Pam exercise was a year ago. Did you ask for the money you needed. Brown said he asked DHS and didn't get the money for the emergency communications.

15. Shays asked what he did to coordinate the evacuation
Brown says he told mayor and governor. Shays said that's why you look like a deer with headlights on you and it's good that you're not doing the job anymore. Brown is pissed.

16. Shay says locals blew it bigtime
isn't putting it all on Brown but Brown didn't do his job. Doesn't believe he didn't have the resources to do the job and that he doesn't know what coordinating means.

18. Brown now says that he learned about the Convention Center
on noon Wednesday. That he mispoke on Thursday on TV. He meant that he just learned about it on Wed. Convention Center wasn't part of the plan. Said he learned about it through hearsay.
