Brownie just lied through his ass...
Edited on Tue Sep-27-05 11:48 AM by rateyes
He was asked by a congressman why Orleans Parish, etc. was excluded from the president's declaration of a state of emergency before the hurricane hit, and he said they declared the parishes included in Governor Blanco's request.

Governor Blanco's request---I read it here on DU--I hope someone can find a link to the document, didn't specify any parishes by name, but asked that the whole state of Louisiana be declared...and the asshat congressman took his word for it.

I hope Blanco jumps on this to show how she is being scapegoated by the Federal Government.

ON EDIT: Here is the link to the declaration made by Blanco...Brownie just committed a federal crime by lying to congress under oath....

OH MAN: HERE IS A LINK TO BLANCO'S LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT REQUESTING THAT HE DECLARE THE STATE OF EMERGENCY, along with a snip of the relevant portion to which this discussion centers.

The President
The White House
Washington, D. C.

Through:
Regional Director
FEMA Region VI
800 North Loop 288
Denton, Texas 76209

Dear Mr. President:

Under the provisions of Section 501 (a) of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, 42 U.S.C. §§ 5121-5206 (Stafford Act), and implemented by 44 CFR § 206.35, I request that you declare an emergency for the State of Louisiana due to Hurricane Katrina for the time period beginning August 26, 2005, and continuing. The affected areas are all the southeastern parishes including the New Orleans Metropolitan area and the mid state Interstate I-49 corridor and northern parishes along the I-20 corridor that are accepting the thousands of citizens evacuating from the areas expecting to be flooded as a result of Hurricane Katrina.

19. We need to do to Brownie, what
the freepers did to Dan Rather---although his story was accurate, and Brownie's isn't. We need to demand the truth about this. I'm trying to get word to the press....everybody else needs to as well.

As far as your question, I'll take any suggestions and do what I can.

8. It was Bush's declaration that excluded NOLA and other
parishes....he's the incompetent one and the documents prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt. Man, I hope that SOMEBODY in the media picks up on this crime.

14. I will be back in a minute when I find the declaration made
by * which names the parishes. I didn't find any other documents on the governor's press release site. It makes absolutely no sense that a governor of a state would exclude all of the parishes on the coast as being in a state of emergency because of an approaching hurricane. She asked for a declaration for the whole state, Bush gave one only for the Parishes NORTH of a line stretching horizontally from Baton Rouge to the Texas State line.

was because Blanco left off parishes in her request, trying to blame her for Bush's failures. It was a lie. That's the significance.

33. Curious & curiouser. Did you know that the WH also claimed she was
not specific enough. That they wanted lists of information and she spoke only in generalities..so they couldn't help her?

Also.. Bush, head of Homeland Security & Brown all got up and read "lists" of the stuff FEMA had done in the first week.

What is with the lists? And if lists are so important.. what is with the letter?

34. Yes, and that "request" from the white house was
not in writing, but over the phone, and Blanco answered the question with "I need everything you've got." Everything means everything. All the documentation points to the fact that Blanco/Nagin did everything they were supposed to do---It was Bush/Chertoff/Brown that screwed up, and as usual don't want to take responsibility.

21. Not to be picky but I only posted this about FIVE times right after
the storm. I stuck it all up and wanted someone to explain it to me and some people did saying it was racist etc but it never got much attention. I even sent it to Keith Olberman but he didn't seem too impressed with it either.

27. There was NO effective presence in the dome or con center
Edited on Tue Sep-27-05 12:13 PM by bluedawg12
I, like most of us, watched this unfold on TV hourly for days.

Those good people were left to suffer in heat, abandoned, in anarchy and amid armed predators.

Mothers, children, elderly and young girls were left as hostages in the dome and con center.

If, if....IF??? FEMA was there, they were in insufficient numbers to make any dent and their presence was unknown.

I saw one poor, determined, over worked nurse with out any medicine or IV fluids trying to help.

This fat fvck is lying through his over paid smelly ass. Bureaucretin!:puke:

declaration of emergency from 8/26 (general) and the 8/28 with full specifics (after weather briefing on probable track of Katrina) are both up at here site under 9/07 show....all the way at the bottom. She said there was an 8/27 doc. with specific counties following up the 8/26 declaration 48KBB2205, but I don't see it on her site. The 8/28 even details the which areas can expect what damage and there are also the dollar amounts and services requested....

As she frames it: Blanco requested specific counties, then the Bush declaration OMITTED all the NOLA counties and that's why Walmart water was held back; comm. lines were cut, etc. because FEMA was saying they had no orders to go in....because BUSH didn't include these areas!

She also recounted how at the same time Haley Barbour's debris cleanup business (based in FL) was awarded the contract to clean up LA---like, there are no business in LA that clean up debris????

The audio clip is up of her discussion and clip of Brownie lying.....

32. Bush made a declaration including the Orleans
parish, etc on 8/29 after Blanco's request for "disaster" declaration after the "state of emergency" declaration earlier. Still, Brown said that Blanco omitted parishes, and that's why Bush did, too. That was a lie.
