Need info on Senate and House for novel |
|
I have been working on a novel about a woman who is elected to Congress, and will be appointed to take over for a female senator who is running for and will win the presidency (Guess who???!!!???)
I need info on where the Congresspersons' offices are located in Washington DC, where the Senators' offices are, how many aides work for them, is there a head of PR for them, the hours they work, and what a hip woman senator who is not married would do after "work." If you have any info, I would be thankful for your help, or if you know where I could find this info, just a shove in that direction would be appreciated.
Thanks very much in advance! Adigal

1. Before you write your novel, |

you might want to educate yourself about how government works. That you don't know where Congressional offices are located is a good indicator that you need to learn a whole lot more about the processes within the government, and then you'll have a nice, solid foundation on which to build your story.
By the way, I think you're going up a strange alley with having a Congressman appointed to fill a Senatorial seat. I'm not sure any party would give up a Congressional seat to fill a Senate vacancy. So, check that out, too.
Best of luck to you.

2. Thanks - I know how the govt works |
|
I understand a lot of the rules and regulations and the roles everyone plays, but I was never interested in the details, which I am learning now before I get started. Also, the focus of this novel is not going to be the senator's career, that is just an aside, but I want to get the details correct.
Do you know any of this??
Thanks,
