My 76 year old mother is more tin hat than I am about voting fraud |

You'd have to know the context, but some of you might appreciate this.
My mother is a liberal with a conservative streak. She can't stand Republican politicians on a visceral level and considers herslf a liberal Democrat. But she's more conservative in some ways than she cares to admit, and is middle class all the way and doesn;t buy into anything that seems conspiratorial.
In general, in tetrms of issues I tend to be more critical of mainstream politics than she is. She doesn't understand, for example, why I think Clinton is too corporate, and she doesn't relate to this whole DLC/centrist thing.
So imagine my surprise when we were talking about the political situation, and the prospects for the Democrats. "It doesn't matter what the Democrats do because the Republicans will just steal the election. Kerry's biggest mistake was letting the republicans get away with stealing Ohio. If he'd demanded a recount I'm sure he would have won."
Anyway, I guess the point is for all you who are concerned with the election issue that if my mainstream Mom is upset about Ohio, it means that there is probably a more widespread perception of the issue than it might seem sometimes.

1. I guess it's time for you to tell your mom what kerry accomplished |

while the cameras were off him.
1. He is still involved in all three lawsuits.
2. He spent time/effort independant of any cameras watching him seeking the responsible party's involved.
3. He's still investigating it.
4. He's currently working on election reform.
It's really time for people to realize that a suspicion of fraud and parading in front of the media doesn't change a darn thing! What we have discovered over the course of 6 months is that the fraud occured in the registrations, in the provisionals, in the tabulators, etc...BUT not one of those "proofs" were available Nov. 3rd when everyone was telling him there was no hope to get more than 100k votes.
AND remember, this is vital, as these months continue, we are discovering the evidence that didn't exist months ago.
It's time for people to stop blaming Kerry. It's time for people to stop blaming Gore.
It's time for "liberals" to aim their tirades at the neoCONS and the Rethugs...or we will forever stay a minority.

It's quite an accomplishment to get any middle class people to believe the truth that there is in fact a problem with the voting process in this country. The typical middle class person is self absorbed and shallow.
