Al Gore is a brilliant man, a good man, a great leader, he's for the environment, he's a thinker, he is more personable than ever...and I like him.

9. Remember when The Chimp blasted him for wanting to add...
get this 44,000 "bureaucrats" to the payroll. The Chimp later set up the Office of Homeland Security with no less than 170,000 bureaucrats still on the payroll.
I have a novel idea for next time - let the person with the most votes win!

Besides I think it would be poetic justice for him to come back and win in '08 a la Nixon -- assuming he can win by a large enough margin to offset the repuke stealing!

5. I would support Al Gore over any of the other currently bandied about...
...potentials without a moments hesitation. For god's sake, we NEED a "policy wonk". We need someone who knows what they are doing. Hell, Bush had to go to Texas to see how the state and local governments do things. HE WAS GOVERNOR OF TEXAS FOR TWO TERMS. What, did he effin forget due to being a drug-addled boozer?

I'd trust Al Gore to fix the mess Bush has gotten us into.

15. Wouldn't it be great to see Gore's inauguration?
Can you imagine what that day would be like? That would mean so much to me. You can never fix the calamity, the utter disaster that Bush's reign has been, you can never take back the crime of his being allowed to assume the office of the president, but knowing that the man who really *did* win that Election Day in November of 2000 was finally being sworn into the office he'd earned...

Just imagining it makes me feel elated. Better than Christmas.

Here's hoping!

Edited on Wed Sep-28-05 11:48 PM by The Kicker
He spoke at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. It was the first time I ever went to listen to a politician speak. It was a great experience. The auditorium was overflowing. I was at the back and still got eye contact. My gut feeling was "This is a trustworthy man". I voted for President-elect Gore in 2000 and I will definitely vote for him again if he decides to run.

He won before and he could do it again.

-I was for a Gore/Feingold ticket until Feingold decided to vote for Roberts.
-I would love a Gore/Dean ticket but we need Dean as the head of the DNC so they can't sabotage a third election.
-Gore/Lieberman - puke.
-Gore/ McCain - Gore would be dead within 6 months because the right will do anything to be in power and they know they can count on one of their nut job fanatics to do the job.

24. People would need to be educated to the fact
...that Gore actually won in 2000. I suspect that there are many in this country that don't get it yet. Once a significant number of these people could be introduced to the facts surrounding that travesty, they would draw the connection to the disastrous 8 years that followed being the result of a great crime agains the American people, and a huge number of them would clamor to restore President Gore to his rightful place at the head of government.

Under the right conditions, Gore could be a shoo-in for President in '08. Especially if the Republican party continues to implode at the current rate.

Al Gore deserves to be President and if he wants it, I will support him.

27. He has the moral authority,
the brains and the sheer strength of character that will be REQUIRED, should we manage to get through this Bush Occupation intact.

We are going to need another Lincoln, and Al Gore is the only person on the horizon who even begins to fit the bill.

Throughout this ordeal, he has been oftentimes the ONLY politician willing to stand up and say the hard truths. The Iraq War Resolution, he was there, opposing it. Election 2004, he was there, speaking the truth about voter suppression and dirty tricks.

There are still many truths about our dire situation that remain unspoken. I trust his judgment on when and how to speak them.

I say it is his fate to win the Presidency - and SERVE - in 2008, for 8 years...Here's why
First he was an elected member of the House of Representatives for 8 years.
Then he was an elected member of the Senate for 8 years.
Next he was elected Vice President for 8 years.
After which he was denied his service in an election HE WON, and was out of government - for 8 years.
Today we need, we have to have, someone who can govern to solve specific issues and problems. This is Al Gore's greatest gift: when he has to tackle an issue, any issue, he soaks up info like a sponge, he processes it, and then he works on fixing it. He uses reliable experts in their field. He studies and expects to hear all sides before coming to decisions or conclusions. HE THINKS. All the Gods and Goddesses know we cannot take another president who doesn't think.
Of course, he's also been against the Iraq war from the start, wanted to keep SS safe, understood the threat from terrorism that actually does exist, cares about the environment, and on and on. He was for public financing of campaigns to shut down the corps & lobbyists waayyy before anyone else.

It's syncronicity at work, fate, karma; whatever you call it - finally - THIS IS AL GORE'S TIME. I believe it.

In the interests of full disclosure, I add that he is one of the sexiest men on the planet. Brains, looks, a kind and loving heart, and faithful - still crazy about his wife after all these years. What more could a woman ask for?

He championed the creation that amplified and equalized our voices. He recognized that global warming was a national and global security threat at least 15 years ago. I believe these two examples of his leadership are precisely the reasons that the corpwhorate owned MSM trashed him with their "War Against Gore". Al Gore in 08, 12, 16, 20 or any other year that he decides to run.

The fact of the matter is that the man is smart and decent and capable.

He's the right man for the job, screw the pundits, screw the right wing echo chamber, screw the image-makers.

I think the American people are ready to look past image and seek *competence*. It's been a long time coming, but most have come to understand the consequences of having an 'empty suit' up there, regardless of how affable an image he projects.

I'll work my ass off for Al, should he decide to run.

There are so many examples of his amazing mind and his caring demeanor. New Orleans is simply the latest.

Of course, the mere fact that the media has never liked him and attacks him for everything including breathing, should indicate to everyone of his greatness and strong moral character. Anyone Democrat they choose to endlessly badger I know is a champion.
