Poll question: De Lay Indictment : politically motivated? |
|
Fmr.White House Majority Leader, Tom DeLay responded to being indicted on criminal campaign conspiracy charges by dismissing the severity of this accusation as a mere political vendetta being exercised against him by democrats.
Question: Do you feel the indictment is politically motivated?

6. Honestly, I'm not sure. Not that it matters. |
|
The only evidence we have that it's "a political witchunt" is basically DeLay saying so. Sure, Ronnie Earle is a Dem, but so what? Did it bother Tom DeLay that Ken Starr was a Repub during the Impeachment mess? I don't have enough evidence to jusge Earle's intentions, so I'll vote no.

9. I agree. I got a little upset when he pretty much put us into it by |
|
saying things like " If you democrats thought you could divide us, you bla bla" I mean, last time I checked , it was a Texas prosecutor, not the entire party who indicted him.I think he is just playing the "accuse the accuser game"

I think the charge (illegally funding money to TX state legislature candidates to facilitate shameless gerrymandering of House congressional districts, which enabled the repukes to take control) is so heinous and well-documented that the indictment should come as no surprise but to those who depend on MSM news. I understand that it is but one of many charges that will be tried in other venues.

13. Delay's crime was criminally motivated. The prosecutor has |
|
indicted and convicted the democratic Speaker of the Texas State House, The Democratic State Treasurer, a Democratic State Supreme Court judge and other Democrats.
In fact he's prosecuted 9 Democratic office holders and 3 Republican office holders during his career.
I don't see the prosecutor as motivated by anything other than putting perps away.

also wanted to keep it as short as possible.Theres many facts that easily dispute De Lay's claim that he is being "attacked":nopity: by our party. The purpose of the poll is to basically show that we are not buying into it.:kick:

POLITICAL motivation. Gimme a break.

so little faith in our Democratic political strategist? There is NO "ammo" here for the retards. If anything, the best political strategy is INSTANT REBUTTAL.When we sit there unresponsive to allegations that are not true, no matter how idiotic and unfounded they are,by not offering a rebuttal, we are conceding to the allegation. When we CONFRONT it and REBUT it,then it shows we are resolved in where we stand. Our party keeping it's mouth shut is what has been the problem. If we sit here and let De Lay tell the nation we are out to get him without our challenge, the media will fly on just the allegation.Do you see my point?
Edited to add: Look at the results so far. They are in NO WAY help to the enemy.

Get in their ring and fight their fight, and lose. How many times do we have to do this before people get it through their heads. You want to win on Delay, you talk about what he's been charged with, that Ellis is connected to Blunt, use Culture of Corruption, push OUR talking points. NOT theirs. I cannot begin to tell you how many times WE have lost focus on a Dem issue because WE have let them make the debate about THEIR talking points. And after it's all said and done, along come the lefties who wanted the fight in the first place, and blame the DLC Dems for not framing the debate. :banghead:
NO NO NO. If I could delete every single post about "partisan Earle", I'd do it in a nanosecond.

a fact that we have something here and the more the Republicans try to fight it,they themselves will show how guilty they really are.We have to "bait" them.Certain so called "talking points" draws them out of the darkness like roaches scurrying about. You watch, this time, they will turn on each other like a bunch of high school cheerleaders trying to get nominated for Homecoming Queen.

There was a resounding "hooray" across the country today. How can anyone say political motivation had nothing to do with it? Nothing wrong with that. It's just an extra added bonus since the guy's GUILTY. Of course it's justice. A long overdue, righteous, reckoning kind of justice. But the collective political orgasm it produced cannot be denied. Or faked.
