Why the Ice Trucks Never Made it to New Orleans
sounds like someone didn't want them to...

i'm so upset---i'm finally getting a chance to read the transcript of michael brown and i'm watching it on the c-span link (part 2)

they're asking that son of a bitch about the ice never getting there, ice trucks being sent to Maine and that shit said (on page 106) "I feebly attempted to get fema out of the business of ice because ice was originally intended to be only a life-saving commodity for baby formula, medications for hospitals and that sort of thing. and ice is one of those commodities that the demand for has just grown and grown and grown."

and on page 107:
"i think it's wrong for the federal government to be in the ice business, providing ice so i can keep my beer and diet coke cool."

oh my god!

i heard someone mention that on air america (i think) yesterday and i thought it was just a way of saying what a shit michael brown was--i didn't realize they were actually QUOTING him and that he really did say that.

that--to me--is so telling

with all the things fema appeared to continually sabatoge--and now that comment about keeping beer cool.....what a monster he is!

so willing to kill people, to let people die because he thought someone might try and keep their beer cold.

how do we get an indictment on this son of a bitch???

(sorry, had to vent--sitting here in tears    )

1. Brownie, you've done one heck of a job
Is what Bush said. We have an elitist government. Period. There is no compassion, no empathy with the low income or working class. Period. None at all.

2. "Low income or working class"???
They have no use for the middle class either. Ask all the IT people who had their jobs shipped to India.

They want rich people and serfs. They dream of obedient servants saying, "yes, Massa" and desperate young girls with no choice to say No.

4. W is the corporatist global king
and doesn't have the slightest interest in us. That was seen in Katrina. Bill Bennett, the racist, is one of his good buds.

8. Yep that was me, out sourced. I completed 3 undergrad degrees
in the time a normal collegiate completed 1. Now, I am told I should go to a community college to be retrained.

The problem in corp. America is they expect you to work 10 hour days and my normal commute was at the minimum 1hr. each way. I wanted to go to grad school, but was working so much I didn't have the time.

This was all engineered by the corporatist, for at least the last ten years.

5. That's how these people really are
I know last year the political strategy was to separate neocons from regular Republicans. But my experience is that regular Republicans really are just like Brownie. Somebody might get 5 cents that they shouldn't, can't have a gravy train like that!! Yet the suitcases of millions in Iraq is "just business". So it isn't the money. It's some sort of sick, twisted, hatefulness and I don't know where it comes from. It's like Bennett's mind even thinking the words that the crime rate would be reduced if we aborted all the black babies. Or Barbara Bush and her beautiful mind and it's all working out rather well for the underprivileged.

There's something not right about Republicans. Not all of them, I know. But way too many.

Here's another gem; I already fired off an email to this twit:

6. Ah and I guess FEMA wasn't in a hurry to get water to folks either because
they were afraid people would just cut their scotch with it. :sarcasm:

These guys are so out of touch with reality it's almost unbelievable.

It was incredibly hot, people were dying from the thirst and heat. What beer? What diet cokes? They didn't even have water. And so Brownie figures people shouldn't have ice.

So they send it to Maine?

But it's ok for the govt to be in the leasing cruise ships business...and then they went largely unused. Brilliant.

9. When Drownie said his biggest mistake was to not realize how
dysfunctional LA was, I wanted to puke. Drownie, accepted a job that anticipated a high level of competence, had dire consequences attached to it, with out any experience. His biggest mistake was to take a job he had no freaking experience in doing. He is just so self absorbed, that he thought he could do anything.

10. Ice to keep dead bodies from rotting.
I forget who responded to Brown, but he was angry about the ice remark. It may have been Christopher Shays.

11. Typical Rethuglican bullsh*t
They won't let anything happen because of all of the potential misuses they imagine may occur. They'd rather thousands of innocents suffer and/or die than one person bilk the system. It's sickening. :puke:

12. A lot of that ice ended up in Carthage, MO
Big storage facility there. Truck drivers waited for days to get in down there and were finally sent to Carthage. They were furious but also told to shut up so they did.
