E-Ring: Prime Time Propoganda
Has anyone seen this show? Entertaining enough, but not too subtle right-wing slant.

Tonight there was a clear implication that Iraq has WMDs "after all".

1. I watched it tonight
I think it was the first episode. You're right. Propaganda. Entertaining, but still propaganda.

4. Actually, the line was now (meaning after the invasion) Iraq might
actually get WMD's. It was not RW, it actually portrayed that Iraq was garnering support from AL-Queda, but, it clearly emphasized that the WMD's weren't there. Please objectively report on these things, it show bias, if you don't.

And yes, this falls into the fight them there rather than here mentality, but I think it did it properly. The issue was, our soldiers might be exposed to nukes, either way, Americans would be killed by nukes. We started the nuke proliferation, we are our own worst enemy.

5. Well Dr Phool agreed that it was propoganda so I guess
it's just a matter of personal interpretation. That's how I saw it, even if you did not.

Others?

6. Since I have the tape, would you like the exact dialog? If we
become blinded to only hear what we want, then we are the same as the RE ideologues. If you would like a complete transcript, I can do that. I did actually tape it, because, I am LOST with LOST!

8. Exact line "Weapons of Mass Destruction might end up in in Iraq
Edited on Thu Sep-29-05 04:53 AM by I_Make_Mistakes
after all, Oh boy!" DH. Okay, you figure out what that meant.

I replayed it 3 times, to make sure it was correct. Now, if you need further info. give me your snail address and I'll send the fricking tape. Or you can wait a year or two and rent it.

Blind allegiance leaves you blind!

I actually don't expect to hear from you because, you apparently don't make mistakes. It is a prominent flaw in the American society today. So, go ahead and feel self righteous, you have so many in your following.

13. Well I guess my memory is pretty good because that is pretty
much what I said in my initial post about the WMDs. Sorry to make you go through all that trouble.

I stand by my comments. It seemed slanted to the right to me and others.

15. I actually disagree. It DH's character says Oh boy, that means
the military was not expecting WMDs, subliminal persuasion is the winner of those who pay attention. My take was that the Rumsfeld wanted the fight them here not there shit to work after the abysmal failure of flowers campaign, but the military was like oh crap, we are in trouble.

And, I think that is probably closer to the truth, the military got gamed by the neocons, and I have not idea about the military support anymore.

2. Looks like the new Boeing and Lockheed-Martin commercials!
Not to mention the new Navy spot. And to think, some guy is buying a minivan right now! I bet most US troops in Iraq or Af-oil-stan would LOVE to be shopping for minivans right now!!!

:wtf:

10. Stopped 5 minutes before the end of the 1st episode...
This is a 60 minute recruitment infomercial.

Given its nature, it's sad to see Dennis Hopper in it...

11. is the dialogue any good?
I ask this after watching part of the commander in chief, which for once accurately portrayed republicans) thank you Donald Sutherland) but featured dialogue straight out of a B movie. I couldn't watch the whole thing, feeling very embarassed for Gina Davis whom I adore...and the whole "she's an independant who never agreed with the pres" just doesn't wash as plausible in our country.

12. This may sound weird but...
in the previews Benjamin Bratt (in the beret and green uniform) kind of looks like Lyndie England.

14. I think Bratt is a great rep for the military. His acting and mannerisms
are really good.

He definitely glamorizes the job, which is of course, part of the propaganda.

Sorry for the re post, but I hit the reply, instead of post.

I also think Ben Bratt was an excellant choice to play the role he is playing.
