Ray Taliaferro on the GOP: "We have to be as ruthless as they are"
THANK YOU, Ray.

I hope that everyone that's ever said "WE CAN'T SINK TO KARL ROVE'S LEVEL" will take that sentiment and stick it where the sun doesn't shine.

Ray: "We HAVE TO BE as ruthless as they are for the GOOD OF THE COUNTRY. For those of you who feel that you can't DO that, sit back and we'll do what we have to do and you can join in whenever you feel it is necessary."

RAY EFFING TALIAFERRO, telling it like it ISN'T...but NEEDS TO BE.

1. Years ago.......
that was the pervasive attitude around here, that we were never to sink as low as the Slugs or we'd be no better than they were. Times have changed (at least here) and we've been forced to realize that we're never going to win people over simply with charm and the truth only. We have to bludgeon people to make them realize what total fools our government is comprised of. We've evolved.
I wish I could say that about certain Democratic "leaders" in Congress though. They still don't seem to grasp the gravity of the present situation but it's up to us to make sure they do.
I wholeheartedly agree with Ray Taliaferro, never again can we return to the days of the toothless, spineless Democrats of our recent past. If we have to get bloodied to save our Democracy then so be it. No more Mr. nice guy!

10. There is a right way and a wrong way
The right way is to fight back every little slander and lie these people put out with the truth. You don't have to out CIA agents, you don't have to steal money, you don't have to steal elections. Just stand up and fight back. Don't be pussies!

3. Right on, Ray.
Stick it to them, and stick it to them hard.

We've had enough.

They are ruining the country -- and the planet.

4. Democratic Party Has to Fight Them, Because Their Victims Cannot
("Be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves." Matthew 10:16.)

Many people apparently do not make a distinction between the merciless violent criminal, and the force needed to stop the crime, and because of that, they actually contribute to the problem by preventing the remedy. It is like telling police not to carry guns, because we don't like violent crime and abuse--from the other side. You are getting your cause and effect confused. If you don't face them as they are, and instead pretend that they are "nice" or "honest" when they are not, then we will be sabotaged, brutally attacked and slandered, every time. You have to face how ugly they are, and submitting and conforming so they won't attack you--as all abuse victims do--never works. They don't attack us because of something we did; they attack because they are pricks, and to achieve an end.

There is here a clash between two perspectives on things, and they can't be reconciled, and they aren't equivalent. We have to win, or modern, civilized democracy is over. They claim that the removal of all law leaves you with "nature," or a "clean slate"--and then all the rich people start bribing elected officials, taking over jobs in the Administration to kill Federal Departments, and cutting taxes until government itself cannot operate. They still claim things are just going along "naturally," unaffected by them. We know that an infrastructure of laws and regulations are needed, or there will only be corruption and crime; there will only be the violent taking advantage. Notice, after a storm when all the traffic lights are temporarily not working, the first thing that happens is a very nervous stress at intersections, as people fear all the traffic going at once, people not stopping or taking cuts and going before others who were there first, etc., etc. The regulation of traffic makes things safe again, and removes this attempt to take advantage of a situation that some people will always do, at the lack of laws.

Republicans are more vicious, cold, and criminal that at any time during my life--notice that when Nixon was violating the Constitution, there were other Republicans calling for Nixon to resign. Now, they are all Nixon. With the indictment of their DeLay, and a legal system that has finally showed itself again recently, we may be coming out of this horrible era, but you will never have justice if you don't have law. Evil doesn't go away becaue everybody becomes some sappy, fantasy-world, unregulated "perfect," it ends because somebody was able to fight it off with laws.

5. Ruthless, yes
Lying pieces of crap, no. We must be ruthless with the truth and ruthless with the message that this country deserves better than the lying pieces of crap that are running it.

There is a difference. It may be too subtle but there is a difference.

Like it or not...and I really don't care who doesn't like it...the Republican presidential candidate in 2008 is Karl Rove.

The Republican presidential candidate in 2000 was Karl Rove.

The Republican presidential candidate in 2004 was Karl Rove.

Oh, you can CALL the candidate Frist or McCain or Giuliani or Santorum or any other prick they parade before the cameras, but let's get ONE THING STRAIGHT.

The Republican presidential candidate in 2008 is Karl Rove.

The Democrats have two choices: defeat Karl Rove, or let him help himself to another four years in the White House.

What'll it be?

I agree with Ray. The "I don't want to sink to Karl Rove's level" folks have a right to their opinion, and they are welcome to sit on the sidelines while the rest of us battle Rove.

6. I believed that we had to take the high road once.
That was before the Smear Boat Liars For Rove came out and distorted Kerry's record so severely it looked like he'd run away and joined the circus rather than joined the military.

Now I agree with Taliaferro. We have to fight as dirty as they do.

9. Exactly
I'm tired of this nicey nicey crap. Niceness is for tea parties and country clubs. This is politics and everything counts. If you're not going to fight then get out of the way for someone who will!

11. Exactly, RUTHLESS! Having a spine and being assertive is...
no longer enough. The Dems let this monster grow for 50 years and now we must fight hard and dirty. Do what ever it takes to win.
