Roy Blunt: "We have an agenda to move forward here."

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,170748,00.html

WASHINGTON — Shadowed by scandal, House Republicans face an uncertain new era after a day of upheaval that left Majority Leader Tom DeLay (search) under indictment and forced to surrender his powerful post.

"What we do here is more important than who we are," Missouri Rep. Roy Blunt (search) said Wednesday after the rank and file named him as DeLay's replacement, at least for the time being. "We have an agenda to move forward here." Democrats, 11 long years in the minority, said the GOP offered nothing of the sort.

DeLay's indictment marks "the latest example that Republicansion at the expense of the American people," said Rep.Nancy Pelosi (search) of California, the Democratic leader.

DeLay's indictment produced a public show of unity among Republicans and a scarcely concealed outbreak of power politics, at a time when polls show dwindling support for President Bush and the GOP-controlled Congress. Additionally, Senate Majority Leader Bill First, R-Tenn., faces federal investigations into the sale of stock.

1. Blunt's got a lot of ambition.
I think he has something like the Bush dynasty as a goal.

2. His son is governor of MO, I believe, and has
compassionately cut thousands off Medicaid, inciuding people who relied on it to pay for things like oxygen. But hey, the rich fat cats can't get that next luxury car if people demand the luxury of breathing.

This is the political dynasty Blunt would like to perpetuate.

3. Yup, more corruption, evil,
and massive transfers of $$$$ from the People to bloated corporations. Same old rethug bullshit. I'm hoping the citizens are finally seeing through it, now about those "voting" machines.... This might be the time to try and get laws passed addressing that problem.
