This is my predicition ......
Bush will nominate a right wing nutjob for O'Conner's seat and stand there with his chin out when he does it.
Such a battle will play well on teevee (think football or a NASCAR race or a boxing match with all the blow by blow accounts). Such a battle will play to his base. Such a battle will cast the Democrats as whining losers.
It will also wash all other issues off the table. Forget Delay's legal problems. Forget Frist and Rove and Katrina and The War in Iraq© and everything else. The media, which idiot son's handlers own lock, stock, and barrel, will play this with glee.
Wall to wall.
24/7.
Bet on it.

1. My take on it is that he will nominate Gonzales. |
|
The dems have shot themselves in the foot on this one. They didn't filibuster Gonzales for AG. So if they do for justice, the repugnants are gonna say, "Why are you protesting his appointment for justice? You approved him for AG. No difference. No extraordinary circumstances to warrant a filibuster."

3. I agree ... Gonza can still be fillibustered ... and ..... |
|
in addition to your very reasonable and logical logic, we can now point to whatever it is he's done as AG.
