Judith Miller's "source" gives her permission to release information. |
|
This is why she has been let out of jail. She will appear before the grand jury tomorrow to tell her story. Hmmmm, is this good or bad?

|
I can't believe anyone is going to be able to walk away unscathed for letting her rot in jail for 86 days!

6. It will be "under wraps" unless she reveals what she testified about. |
|
But based on parts of the written court opinions in this case, I think the indictments will be coming very soon after she testifies.

11. We've got Rove and Libby. |
|
That means that * and Crashcart were in the loop.
Who was the person who violated the 1982 Intelligence Identities Act? Condi? Bolton? Powell?
Somebody spilled the beans to Rove and Libby. Who was it?

10. I think Fitzgerald told her lawyer that he was going to prosecute Miller |
|
for criminal contempt. Another possibility would be that Fitzgerald indicated that he was going to ask for the term of the grand jury to be extended or for a new one to be seated. Either way Miller would know that she was going to have to do another 18 to 24 months in jail. I think she was unwilling to do that. And her lawyer may have pressured Libby to release her again from her pledge of confidentiality.

16. The pledge of confidentiality is not legally binding. |
|
It may be that she said that she was going to talk but asked Libby (or whomever) to say that she was released just to protect the integrity of the notion of journalism.

20. I think her lawyer probably contacted Libby and told him that she |
|
was willing to stay in jail until the term of the grand jury expired next month but that Fitzgerald had indicated that he was going to either prosecute her for criminal contempt or seat a new grand jury and that she was not willing to do two more years. So Libby agreed to release her again just for appearances sake and she will now testify before the grand jury.

22. I doubt it. I have always thought that Libby would fall on his sword |

if necessary and just wait for his pardon.

My mind is simply spinning. I can't believe how corrupt this government, as well as the whore press, is.

8. Depends on whether she's willing to risk perjury |
|
Now that she and Bolton have had a chance to get their story straight.

13. well, cheney must know Libby did this. so..... the mystery continues. |
|
...She was released after she had a telephone conversation with the Vice President Dick Cheney's chief of staff, I. Lewis Libby, sources said. In that conversation, Libby reaffirmed that he had released Miller from a promise of confidentiality more than a year ago, sources said.

17. Has she given any evidence at all yet? |
|
If not, there's no perjury risk for her so far. Of course, anything she says could create a perjury problem for her later on if she contradicts it. But has she given any evidence yet? No, right?

12. In another thread, it was reported that she'd gotten permission a year ago |
|
and called Cheney's office to confirm she was cleared from a promise of confidentiality.
Hell of a thing to forget for a year. And to wait until now to ask "Hey, did you mean it?"
Bullshit. Something's up. They finally decided there was something she could say or that there was someone she could sell up the river.
