Erwin: Well, I think, if you look at what‘s going on, this whole region has always known that, with the church, that New Orleans and the Gulf Coast are known for sin. And if you go to a church and you read your Bible, you are always told avoid sin and that there‘s judgment for sin. And I just think that, in my analysis—and I can‘t speak for everybody, but I believe that, if you look at the factors, that you had a city that was known for sin—the signature of New Orleans is the French Quarter, Bourbon Street. It is known for sin.

2. Making wild inferences like they do is avoiding thinking & accountability.
When people like Erwin avoid feeling guilty by making wild inferences from the bible and their religion, they are just avoiding accountability and responsibility and are seeking ways of not looking deeply into the issues. It is cowardly at best.

God was trying to tell us something about our sinning on Katrina, before Rita even appeared as a maybe storm. I said well if he is trying to tell us something it is most likely that he is sick and tired of his name being used in vain and as a way to make the rich richer and the poor slaves. That just maybe he was trying to tell us he is not happy with our government full of false Christians. He of course start to look mad and ask me how dare I say that. I went into the New Testament teachings * and cabal dismiss on a daily basis. Then told him I had no problem with a New Testament Christian but those that pick and chose Old Testament quotes to fit their need for power and money were not Christians in my book. He stopped and we could see this look on his face like a light bulb moment. He then said I had some good points and he was going to have to rethink a lot of things. BTW on Rita, I told him if Texas was hit this year it would prove to me it was * and cabal that God was mad at.
I have used the same argument since on anyone that tries the God is getting even with sinners BS. So far it has been an effective argument in that it stops them in their tracks. Now whether they rethink everything I will never know but bet they are more careful of blaming God to strangers. I love using their warped way of thinking against them, it is fun to do.

6. Some people are just dangerously stupid.
Since they are into being rock stupid, that in itself is a sin as far as I'm concerned.
