Poll: Newsweek: Bush 40% approve...53% disapprove...7% unsure |
|
http://www.pollingreport.com/BushJob.htmThis is up 2 points from Newsweek's last one on 9/9/05. Still, not the spike up that Gallup and FUX polls reported this week.

Perhaps a Rove indictment or maybe they are waiting to see if george forgets to mention God on his next speech.

6. Perhaps they're waiting for the following headlines: |
|
1. Watergate Redux: CIA Leak Investigation ends in White House Indictments
2. Tensions Escalate, Iraq Erupts into Civil War
3. Home Heating Costs Reach Record Highs
4. Grisly Milestone: Over 2000 American Soldiers Killed in Iraq.
5. Record Deficits Fuel Recession Fears
6. Billions Earmarked for Gulf Coast Reconstruction Unaccounted for.
7. Tom Delay Convicted for Campaign Finance "Money Laundering" Scheme.
Or maybe not, the KoolAid having rotted the few brain cells they were born with.

19. That's a brilliant list. |
|
I'm gonna save that and see how long it takes for each of those headlines (paraphrased, of course) to actually make print. I expect, while not all of them will inevitably come to pass, that at least three or four will happen by the end of Bush's term -- although if this is true, it will likely be those stories themselves that bring about an early end.

...they're "not sure" they won't "get in trouble" for voicing their disapproval of the "President".

|
disaster, Chimpy's poll numbers have only gone up 2 points after he's been on the massive PR blitz. Not bad.

7. Poll numbers have remained solidly in the toilet since Katrina. No stat |
|
istical difference at all, but last week Conservatives got on TV and attempted to con Americans that the Gallup numbers showed a rise in approval because they were better than the other polls from a month ago.
Pretty soon even TV journalists are going to start pointing out that the WH ass kissers who try this one are full of it.

I honestly believe that these polls include elementary students. They will ask them who is the current president , the kid says * and it's counted toward the support'em and love'em category.

17. 7% is the "Elvis Factor": 7% of all Americans believe that Elvis is alive |

And apparently a sizable proportion of that 7% believe that Elvis will send you a letter if you write him.

18. I'm still waiting for that dip to 30%, as guaranteed by TIA's numbers |
|
Of course, if a top pro golfer coming off a serious injury shot in the low 90s, then 80s, then high 70s, then mid 70s, then par, then had a stetch of brilliant rounds in the mid 60s, TIA's models would insist he would eventually be shooting in the mid 50s, completely ignoring the physical realities of the sport. Likewise, the polynomial crap, or whatever it was, amazingly ignored the approval ratings basement of ANY Republican in this polarized era. They won't abandon Bush in significant number for his numbers to dip much, if any, lower.

25. I doubt almost all of these polls |
|
Edited on Sun Oct-02-05 10:46 AM by Vinnie From Indy
It occurs to me that BushCo. has effectively gained control of a vast swath of the corporate media and there is no reason to think that they haven't also co-opted many of the polling companies. I also agree that the high heating costs this winter won't help the GOP.
