Poll question: For those who are condemning the Democrats that voted for Roberts |
|

Would your opinion of those Democrats change if they supported a fillibuster against O'Conner's replacement?

I for one don't care they didn't fight Roberts with all they got, because this next appointee is where Bush is going to try and install a fucktard. The very fact that he is thinking of people who have no experience as a judge after "Brownie" having no experience with emergencies should screw him alone, and his low polls won't help...not to mention, the democrats letting Roberts in makes them look reasonable and willing to compromise, so if they refuse this guy it seems much more credible, less partisian. We have a very winnable fight on our hands.

2. I think it mostly depends on the 7 Dems in the "gang of 14" |
|
Are they going to be willing to put up a fight for this, or not?

3. I think they will fight, because they have the political capital. |
|
With the indictments and all, repubs don't have the power for the "nuclear option" and they know it. Its a great time to fight.

HAVE to fillibuster any nominee who's anywhere to the right of O'Conner. Of course, it will be almost impossible to find a repuke who's anywhere to the left of O'Conner.

5. They won't support a filibuster! |
|
The fact that they voted to put this Opus Dei puke on SCOTUS is enough evidence of how they will act in the future.

6. what's wrong with going after both, especially since GOP has votes? |
|
It would not have hurt the dems to vote against Roberts even if they didn't fillibuster, and you know damn well Roberts is going to carry water for the right on the bench.
