Everyone else is a Texan or her boss.

SHE CAN'T BE THE NEXT ASSOCIATE JUSTICE!

If Bush were a democrat, FReepers would be livid.

Yep. I'm pretty close to that right now.

The Dims are going to LOVE this SC fight. They get a pick they will like but they still get to bash Bush in a faux fight.

There This isn't going to be a fight.

Miers will sail through, just like the last "conservative" (cough, cough) Chief Justice we just got scammed on.

Bush is an idiot. He's an idiot on the borders, idiot on taxes, idiot EXTRAORDINAIRE on SCOTUS.

The DUers are right about this guy when they question his intelligence, I'm afraid.

4. Praise might be too strong a word
Conceding a point is more like it.

Now, my question to freepers and all Bush voters (in case any are looking in} is why in the world couldn't you see that before you elected him. I mean, I know freepers weren't going to vote for our guy, but couldn't you find anyone both learned and intelligent? Moreover, why didn't you realize his social conservatism is a sham? I did. I knew he didn't care about abortion, anything that homosexuals do or any other part of your agenda. He also doesn't care about abortion rights or the civil rights of homosexuals or anyone else for that matter, but indifference wasn't really what freepers were going for, was it?

To: alessandrofiaschi

If it was only "a dream". Feels more like a nightmare.

Helluva way to start a Monday.

Maybe if we all go back to bed and try again, we can wake up and hear a "correct" name like: Luttig, Brown or Williams.

What a move of pure idiocy on Dubya's part. He just SINGLE-HANDEDLY assured the Dems of regaining control of the WH, Senate and Congress in the next round of elections. GOOD MOVE, GEORGIE BOY!!

Can ya all say "President Hillary Rodham Clinton"? Cuz it is gonna happen. The millions of Christian Conservatives who got the Repubs in party last time are NOT GOING TO BE FOOLED TWICE - and they will for the most part **ALL* stay home in the '06 and '08 elections.

The Repubs have been on the edge of extinction for some time now, since they don't know how to exercise power when they have it. This officially kills our party, with the final knife through the heart.

13. There's probably some truth to this
"What a move of pure idiocy on Dubya's part. He just SINGLE-HANDEDLY assured the Dems of regaining control of the WH, Senate and Congress in the next round of elections. GOOD MOVE, GEORGIE BOY!!"

The actual conservatives of the Republican party are not, obviously, going to be particularly happy with this nomination. They were ready to fight for a nominee of thier choosing, and they're going to feel at least somewhat sold-out by this.

A lack of enthusiasm in the next general election (soooo close, now) is not going to be a help to the Republicans in the Congress.

Of course we are right...anyone with their head not firmly implanted up their ass can see that Shrub is an idiot.

It is too bad that it took these idiots two elections to learn this fact. The country would be much better off if they had realized it much sooner like the rest of us.

Bush: " I know her heart, I know her character..."

Funny. I dont care about either. I care about her professional qualifications to be an Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court. I dont care whether she is qualified to be a social worker or a parole officer.

I am amused with the venom they are hurling at their fearless leader. They're being about as nasty toward Bush as we consistently are. LOL.

ARE THEY FUCKING NUTS?

Who the fuck did they want Shrub to nominate?!?! Timothy McVeigh?!??! Is that right wing enough for them?

I agree Roberts is pretty right wing, but he also supported a right of privacy in his confirmation hearings.

To: section9
This is SOOOO DEPRESSING!!!!!!

When historians review our era they will conclude that today was the day on which Reaganism died. It's over everybody, as over as the Anticommunist movement was over when McCarthy's Army hearings collapsed in infamy. We will now have to endure Hillary as the clone of JFK, an Edwards instead of LBJ. Who will be our Nixon in 2020? Indeed, Marx was right: history repeats itself, first as tragedy and then as farce. What depressing thoughts.

Edited on Tue Oct-04-05 07:54 PM by Vektor
Whoa.

Because the first Nixon shed such a positive light on the Repuke party.
:sarcasm:

Good god, they are almost comical in their utter cluelessness. Sometimes when I read their comments posted here, I think that their whole website and everyone commenting on it must be in on some great, big, satirical joke. After all, how can ANYONE (much less a GROUP of people) be that warped, and that stupid?

25. He's being compared to Gore...
you know, the one who actually won the election back in 2000. The Freeps are imploding. :woohoo: :woohoo:

To: safisoft
When we elected and re-elected G.W. Bush, we got a younger version of his father.

Wrong. We got Al Gore. What would FReepers be saying right now if Gore had been elected and done all of this:

1. New law providing drugs for all seniors.
2. More farm pork.
3. Education bill drafted by Kennedy.
4. 200 Billion of our money promised for Katrina plus $2000 debit cards for all.
5. Patriot Act (You may feel it's okay in application right now, but what if it had been Al Gore's brainchild?).
6. Supreme Court nominees.
7. Not securing our borders even after 9-11.
8. Not enforcing our immigration laws even after 9-11.

If Bush were a democrat, FReepers would be livid.
